it's over. This was such an experience. Imo the best of the series and immediately shot the series up to either my number 1 (together with TSA) or number two favorite series of all time. My main goal of this year was to finish The Realm of the Elderlings and Malazan BotF. I have done both! :')

As you can tell... I'm still in an adrenaline rush from that last two chapters (which took me 4 hours to read wtf). I didn't expect to love it too, especially after the disappointment in DoD. But I absolutely loved it! I'm just odd with Malazan I guess xD

I hated WoT....I slogged myself through the first three books and then dnf'd it. It definitely had potential, but I just found it utterly boring and I literally couldn't stand a single character.
Still, a lot of people love it, so I hope you will too!

Seeing that the fans seems to love the first six books, I think you made the wise decision to DNF'ed the series if the first three book isn't working out for you. I know I'll do the same if that ends up being the case for me! xD

I love the Ketty Jay books. The crew really goes through some development and the whole thing was a fun ride.

I hear they're adapting these books into a series (Amazon Studios). I've never read the books so at least I'll be able to check out the show without doing the inevitable book-to-show comparison...which never turns out well.

So excited. Such different tone and setting from Malazan or my usual epic fantasy read too. Right now I'm in a major epic fantasy hangover because of The Crippled God, have to take a step back from the genre for weeks xD

Yeah, I read that book 7-10 are veeery slow and since I already found the first three boring the dnf-choice was easy :)
