Diana, you mentioned being really competitive. I feel that way too. I read 10xs more than literally every single person I know in my personal life (loads of them read and like books, but none of them are anywhere near 100 a year), but compared to everyone in here I'm below average. I find this both incredible and depressing at the same time haha. I'm used to being proficient at everything I do. What's more, I'm reading at max capacity and could not possibly increase it at all unless I want to forego real life priorities. If there was anything I'm not enjoying about the competition, is the lack of impact I feel I have. I'm playing with the idea of pitching "weight classes" like in wrestling. But that seems like a headache to figure out.

In real life even my friends who read might read like a book or 2 a month. They think I'm crazy to read so much. And still I'm nowhere near the top of the individual lists. And that's me pushing myself to burn out levels. My February was 13 books, one of which was the biggest chunk of 1200 page Oathbringer. My April list right now is 9 none epic sized books. I think my book #s will go down each month as I get to a manageable level, and I'm getting ok with that. Just need to learn to let go.

I like this idea too.

That's what I'm trying to do (let it go). There's just no way to "try harder" to get more results. If I could go to a reading gym I totally would. X)
Niki Hawkes wrote: "Side note, I just noticed most of our team is reading red rising. I wish I hadn't read that one already else I'd be all over that haha."Yeah... I read Red Rising a month ago, just before the BR was set up. But I'll join for #2 and 3 :D

Ok! Maybe we can do like our PNR BRs and fit short stories between other reads.
The best thing about this competition is our chitchat thread here. :DI am really happy that you put me in this group, Niki.
I let it go of trying to compete with the other teams a while ago. I know I can read 50 books an year comfortably and my challenge is set up for 60. I am not going too far from this as I have a job, other hobbies and I love to sleep, lol. ;-) So no way I will even try to compete with people that go over this, lol.
I will cheer every member from our team even if we finish last and no matter how many books each one read this year. You are all welcome to slow down and enjoy the ride. :-)
My only request for our team is that people participate in out chat, lol. :P
I switched my phone and now it doesn't let me access the team competition file in the same way =\. Think somebody could add a few books for me? Unfortunately none of them were buddy reads.I recently finished The Waking Fire, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry, and also The Providence of Fire.
The Providence of fire and The Waking Fire both contribute to my incomplete series challenge =].

Done! I put today as the read date since I don't know when you finished the books.
18.8 points for the three books :)
I love this thread. You guys are wonderful destressers for this challenge. (group hug)And Virginie, let's do it. That'll be the PNR br for April :-)

Great job!"
Hahahaha thank you, Miche. Don't worry, I love our team for slacking. Heck, Bill Gates love lazy people. We should be damn proud of it. Never let this (illusion) competition turn your reading tio burn out session guys, never! Fun in reading should always be the most important priority! :D

Awesome thread. Best thing I did this year was to join to the challenge and luckily Niki picked me (yes, I am living in this fantasy land in which I was picked) for this team!

There is a standing invite for anyone in this group. And it has anything awesome you can think about! :D
I just looked at the total tally and found out that the the average page count for all 53 (?) challenge members is around 11, 000 pages. In less than three months. Insane.I am way below average 😅
Niki: 9886
Couple of us are really raising the average... Me, Choko, and Julia are floating between 33,100 and 34,300... only 21 of the 53 are above the average...

Based on the same stats, average pages per day for each member is around 130.
We would won in any group competition in GR, I think.
So I tried to get over being burnt out by the challenge. I cleaned my TBR a bit, trimmed my BR schedule, DNF a few books, abandoned some series, put others on hold and read a Riyria book.I'm back in the game! :D

Woohoo! Yay for a fresh start!
That's awesome Virginie!! Way to clean house haha. It feels good to get back down to only the best books.

My current average is 417.2 pages per day... it varies a bit, but I think that comes to 7-10hrs of reading a day, on average... 6-7 of those happen at work... reading easy books at 2x speed bolsters up low days and slow books...

I'm trying to sign up for more short series & standalones like Scorpio Games and Six of Crows... books that don't lead to 10 month investments...
@Iain & those who were interested: I don't think we decided on a schedule for Bookburners. I can start as soon as I find a copy of it. If we do something like one story a week, it'll fit nicely between BRs. What do you guys think?
