Kathy Broyles | 519 comments Having trouble getting through your to read shelf? Can't decide what to read next? Would you like someone to choose a book for you to read? This is a monthly challenge where participants get paired up randomly and their partner picks a book for them to read. If this sounds like fun to you, welcome to this month's Pick It For Me challenge!

Sign ups end on the 24th. Partners will be assigned shortly thereafter. Book choices for your partners are to be given on or before the 1st. Please check back often during that time to be sure that you don't miss anything!

Guidelines
* Sign up below with your to-read shelf (or the shelf you prefer your picks to come from)
* Please be sure that your profile is set to public, or that you friend your partner so that they can see your shelves. - IF YOUR PROFILE IS NOT SET TO PUBLIC, PLEASE PROVIDE A LIST FOR YOUR PARTNER TO CHOOSE FROM

If you do not plan to participate or are unsure if you can pick a novel for your partner, PLEASE, PLEASE do not sign up. It is very difficult to re-pair individuals once we are underway.

After your partner selects a book for you, be sure and check back in each week or so to let us know your progress. Tell us if you like the book, love it or think it is just so-so.

PLEASE NOTE: To make it a bit easier on myself (and hopefully you too) the person you pick for may not be the person picking for you. For example Jane may pick for Susie, but Susie might pick for Ed.

message 30: by Heather (new)

Heather | 1262 comments For Charley Girl I pick Two by Two by Nicholas Sparks!

message 31: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Broyles | 519 comments Kat! I had read nothing on your list so I spent the whole morning reading the synopsis of each one (glad your list was short, lol). I finally picked one that is in danger of going on my own wish list. Let me know if it is worth the read The Number One Rule for Girls by Rachel McIntyre

message 32: by Charley Girl (new)

Charley Girl (charleygirl9) | 42 comments I've never done one of these before so excuse the basic questions. Do I just post or email the person the book I'd like them to read? How does that work? When we check in weekly where do we do that? I'm really excited to try this!

Just post here like Heather has done for you. (a couple of posts up) On the reply box, there is a click to post the book link or the book cover link if you want to do it like the one I did. (Just above this post) Then after you have read your book, post here in the discussion thread so we will know if you liked it or not.

Let me know if this explanation makes no sense and I'll try again or if you have more questions. This is one of my favorite games to play here on "Hooked on Books."

Love John Scalzi books - will get on this one next :) Thanks!

R Z | 60 comments Hi, Carrie! I'm giving you two choices because one of them is a dense read and I don't know what your reading time is like for the month. (I hope, mods, that this is okay— I just know how long it takes me to read dense books sometimes.)

So, if you'd like a little longer read, I pick 11/22/63

But! Stephen King is dense, so if you'd like something a little lighter I pick The Raven Boys

Loved both of them, so whichever you pick will be great.

Thank you R, I appreciate the choice :)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 155 comments Hi Shay, for you I pick The Graveyard Book, I don't know if you do audio books but if you do listening to this book was fantastic. Neil Gaiman does a wonderful job narrating his own works. On top of that the story is really good.
