Eric (eandersonwi) | 6 comments Has anybody else read Nobody's Fool? What is the appeal if this book? It's got sky high ratings, but I just couldn't get into it. I found it to be as dull as dull can get.

David Black | 21 comments Definitely not an action-packed novel like something by John Grisham or Robert Ludlum. This book (and its sort-of sequel, Everybody's Fool) are more about everyday guys struggling to get along in a place that has changed, and maybe they no longer fit into their surroundings. The events in the book are for the most part, the kinds of things that happen to average Joes, and it's about how those guys respond to changes around them.

Just a different writing style. I am a big fan of Richard Russo's books, but I can see how someone else might want more thrills and adventure.
