Katie | 2369 comments HIV is one of the words born in my birth year. Your pick sounds like an interesting option for me as well.

Yeah I was excited when I saw that AIDS was one of my words because I love reading about medicine and biology, and this seems right up my alley. There was another one I wanted to read: The Origins of AIDS, but it seems to be harder to find a copy of that one.

message 7: by Mel (new)

Mel | 162 comments The Dark Half is one of my favorite Stephen King books; I hope you wind up enjoying it! :)

message 8: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments I wasn't going to do the Pop Sugar challenge next year since it looks like I won't finish this year's, but so many of the prompts look interesting!

message 9: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (scharle4) | 94 comments Great lists! I am planning on doing the POPSUGAR challenge as well.

message 10: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Well I still haven’t finished any of my 2017 challenges... on the last book for Book Riot now, have one more for ATY, and 10 for Pop Sugar, yikes! So I’m going to finish Book Riot and ATY and forget about Pop Sugar, then I’ll start ATY 2018, hopefully only just over a week late.

And this year I’m going to try my best to really do one challenge at a time!

message 11: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Of course, the last 2 books I have to read are long (500 p and 360 p but dense).

message 12: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Alright! Finally starting my first book! I still have one for 2017, but it's paperback so I'm starting a kindle book for week 1!

Erica | 460 comments Adding Book Riot even though I didn't finish all 3 last year...

message 17: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Feeling pretty good! I started almost 2 weeks late and still have managed to read 9 books for this year's challenge already! Thank you readathon!

message 18: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Wow, Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir was exactly what I needed this week. I've been a bit down because of pregnancy hormones, and this book was so funny it cheered me right up!

message 19: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Ahead with ATY and Book Riot and behind with Pop Sugar. Between having downtime at work to read and being on maternity leave from June, I think I might finish all 3 this year!

message 20: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Hoping the readathon will help me get caught up in the other challenges!

message 21: by Leigh (new)

Leigh (leighgray) | 60 comments wow. This is really impressive!

I'm looking forward to starting The Broken Earth trilogy this year.

message 26: by Pam (new)

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 2546 comments I'm reading The Heart's Invisible Furies. What a great book! It's hard to put down.

message 27: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Making good progress, but baby is due tomorrow (and I'm being induced), so all bets are off after that!

message 28: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 1331 comments Congratulations Erica. The best advice I received is to sleep when the baby sleeps. It is the only way to get enough rest for those late night feedings. 🙂

message 29: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Will try but I also have an almost 3 year old, so I imagine this time it’ll be a bit harder.

message 30: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Well, having a toddler and a newborn makes reading pretty difficult! No time during the day unless they nap at the same time (and there are usually more important things to do like nap or shower), and by the time they’re both asleep at night, I’m too exhausted to stay awake 😭 The rest of the year will be slow going I guess.

message 31: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments I've been sneaking in more reading and now I only have 10 books to go! Trying to make ATY a priority over the other challenges so I'll at least finish one this year.

message 32: by Tracy, Constellation Mod (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2472 comments Mod

message 35: by Erica (new)

Erica | 460 comments Last 2 are dragging... S. because it's hard to find time to sit down and deal with that with 2 young kids, and Swann's Way because I'm reading it on Serial...
