Conny | 3 comments Hi :)
I'm currently reading the German edition of Robin Cook's "Contagion" (Montgomery & Stapleton, #2), titled "Das Labor". I did find this book on GoodReads:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
... which is definitely the book I am currently reading; the ISBN also matches. However, it has wrongly been labeled as the German edition of a DIFFERENT Robin Cook novel, namely "Acceptable Risk". Is there a way to reassign it?
Further research has shown that this has happened to a number of Robin Cook German editions on Goodreads ...

Below I've compiled a list which is hopefully clear enough for someone with the right permissions to clear it up :)

This German edition
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
should be assigned to this original title
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
(currently listed as the German edition of "Acceptable Risk" by the same author)

This German edition
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
should be assigned to this original title
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
(currently listed as the German edition of "Terminal" by the same author)

This German edition
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
should be reassigned to this original title
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9...
(currently listed as the German edition of "Contagion" by the same author; this book was previously published in German as "Unheilbar", which is correctly assigned in the database).

I hope I made sense :) I really appreciate the work the editors do on Goodreads and I understand completely that errors will happen. Thankfully it's not a matter of life and death, as it is in the books mentioned above^^

Arenda | 20818 comments Looking into it.

From the German wikipedia page for Robin Cook https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_C..., it seems there might be two books titled "Das Labor", one the translation of Contagion, the other of Acceptable Risk.

Same for Das Experiment. Also seems to be the German title for two different books (Terminal and Acceptable Risk).

For Tödliche Geschäfte, seems that Wikipedia is wrong (or that title is used multiple times and only listed once on Wikipedia).
Worldcat has Tödliche Geschäfte listed as edition of "Terminal": http://www.worldcat.org/title/todlich...

Conny | 3 comments Yes, that is probably what caused the confusion in the first place ...

Krimi-Couch has the correct list:

Arenda | 20818 comments I think I've got them sorted now, can you please check them. (It doesn't help that there are no descriptions for the German editions. If you have descriptions for them, we can add them.)

I've combined Das Labor with Contagion: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

I've combined Das Experiment with Acceptable Risk: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

I've combined Tödliche Geschäfte with Terminal: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Conny | 3 comments Thank you, that looks all good now :)

I've copied the official cover blurbs here so you can add them as descriptions; I only edited the one for "Das Labor" a bit, because it actually gives away a twist that occurs pretty late in the novel ...

Robin Cook: Das Labor
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Robin Cook: Das Experiment
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
