Mariana welcome to the group. I moved your thread to Best Reads from an empty folder just used by the mods.

I haven't read Lunar but it's on my list to get to in 2018. Given that type of book I'd recommend these first books in different series.

An Ember in the Ashes
The Shadow of What Was Lost
Red Rising
Scythe
The Screaming Staircase
The Young Elites
The Novice
The Raven Boys
Steelheart
A Darker Shade of Magic
This Savage Song

I liked that series :) Although I think Cress was my favorite, but Scarlet was really good! I'd recommend:

Scarlet - A.C. Gaughen
Grave Mercy - Robin LeFevers
Written in Red - Anne Bishop
Graceling - Kristin Cashore
The Sweetest Dark - Shana Abe

I think there's a good chance you'll like those too. :)

What a sexist list. :)

I'm not quite sure how to respond to that lol.

Breaking News! Scott renders Niki speechless.

Here’s some male YA authors:

Garth Nix- Abhorsen Trilogy
Joseph Delaney- Last Apprentice
Christopher Paolini- Eragon
Pittacus Lore- Lorien Legacies

I also really liked the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor and Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle but the latter is more of a middle school level book

Public Disclaimer: My recommends were based on storyline and similarities in character and romance. The fact that they're all female authors is purely coincidental.

jess (nu6586) | 1722 comments I also loved the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor.

Hard to choose one, but the aforementioned trilogy as well as Lord of the Rings and Dragonquest from The Dragonriders of Pern (Anne McCaffrey). Loved F'lar and Lessa! Dragonriders were my first introduction to fantasy (besides loving The Animorphs) and LOTR my first high fantasy love. Probably The Fellowship of the Ring.

Interested what other books you all pick!

Simi Sunny | 73 comments Well, what do you know, Marianna. I'm reading the Lunar Chronicles. And it is ofgicial that I love the series! ^-^ I'm not done with it yet, though. I'm on the last book of the series, Winter.

If you want any recommendations, I think I can give you one of my favorite fantasy novels. Have you read the Silver Witch. It is unbelievably beautiful :)

Simi Sunny | 73 comments Oh, it's hard to choose which one is my favorite series. So far, it is the Lunar Chronicles, The Wrath and the Dawn, and Spell Study series.
