Marina H | 1315 comments Great list, Samantha! I read A Little Life last year I think it was. The first time I picked up, I found it a little difficult to get into, so I put it away but after a few months I tried it again and I loved it. It's harsh to read sometimes, and I think you either love or hate it. That's the impression I get when I read others comments and reviews. I've considered re-reading it, but I'm afraid I won't love it as much as the first time. I'll be curious to see what you think of it.

Marina I am so glad that you shared your experience reading A Little Life, it has gone on and off my list a few times because the reviews. Your input makes me a little more excited to at least start it. This is my first year making a plan prior to the year staring. Not sure how it will go but think it could be fun and make me challenge myself a bit more.

I read Britt-Marie Was Here earlier this year and adored it so I am really looking forward to Beartown. The Name of the Wind is a perfect book my intimidating read for some reason I don't read a lot of fantasy books but I really think I might like it if I tried more of them. This one seems to show up a lot but for some reason perhaps its size (which isn't that long) I fear it a bit.

I am going to head over and check out your list - I am enjoying seeing what others are reading and finding new selections to fill in the blanks on my list.

Samantha | 902 comments Q1 progress report:
I have to say I am a little surprised that I caught up and am now even a little ahead. I have used audiobooks more than I normally do but finding some good ones so it is working out well.

I also caught up on the Netgalley books I needed to finish.

Overall books were pretty good, I had 4 five star reads, 7 four star reads and 6 three star reads. I should probably give A Beautiful, Terrible Thing: A Memoir of Marriage and Betrayal a lower rating but kind of feel weird rating someones life low. I was most surprised by how much i enjoyed Did You Ever Have a Family, on my TBR for years because I was just sort of interested in it, I loved it.

Hope that Q2 is just as good as Q1!
