Lourdes, are all his books "clean"?

Lourdes | 26 comments There are some occasional mild profanity. No explicit sex. It’s clean and I enjoyed reading the series.

Ken | 13 comments I've enjoyed all the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency stories by Alexander McCall Smith. I just finished the audio version of #17 in the series--Precious and Grace.

I also recently listened to Twenty Years After, by Alexandre Dumas (sequel to The Three Muskateers) and quite liked it.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer are fun. Cress (#3) is the last one I listened to.

Lourdes | 26 comments I finished listening to the audio of In The Market For Murder (Lady Hardcastle Mysteries #2) by T E Kinsey a few days ago. I gave it 4 stars. It's a nice, cozy mystery which I enjoyed very much.

I just finished reading A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman and give it 5 stars. I've never had a good laugh in a while and this book did it for me for the last couple of days. I heard the movie is as good as the book so I downloaded it from Amazon prime and will watch it tonight.

Christine Stobbe | 22 comments I gave 5 stars to Mary, Bloody Mary which is a book I read aloud to my sixth grader. Even though it's written for ages 9/10+ I found it an engaging story; the writing draws you in and makes for an enjoyable, effortless read. I will also be giving 5 stars to The Complete Sherlock Holmes once I finish it - it's a lengthy monster, but a fascinating one. You can't go wrong with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!

Christine Stobbe | 22 comments Today I finished The Shakespeare Stealer, which I read aloud with my son. Fun, young adult historical fiction. I gave it five stars. I was surprised at some of the low ratings I saw on Goodreads for this one after I had written my review - I thought it was an exciting story, and quite well-written, although there were some editing issues with the dialogue that made it hard to follow who was speaking in places. Cliffhangers at the end of many of the chapters, unexpected twist close to the end. A lot of readers complained about the language in the book - dialect and archaic terms! - which I didn't have a problem with at all, but my family is English, so I "ken" what the characters were talking about! This one's a keeper. I would read it again, and I would read the next ones in the series, too.

Christine Stobbe | 22 comments I loved Between the Lines, and I'm expecting to give the sequel Off the Page five stars, as well. These books are fun! They're young YA, but they screamed "Read me!" once I started, and I love books that do that.
