While it seems to be largely found in the south it is not an exclusive. Bryan exposes unjust life and death row sentences through his experiences representing these folks for appeal and in many was able to overturn their sentences. It was shocking to realize that in this day in time we can still see children in their early teens sentenced to death row and placed in an adult facility. This was a hard book to read but Bryan has an artful skill in his writing that allows the events to unfold easily without sensationalizing them. We would like to think that people where they are judged only fit for death that the crime would be equally horrendous but that is not always the case.
