I love that this plays with gargoyles! This isn't a creature I see a lot in SFF! (view spoiler)[ I feel as though the gargoyles either gained some advantage or have been holding out on them! I've no idea yet about Vala--but I hadn't considered that she was a gargoyle... hmm...

I'm really intrigued by the worldbuilding of this book. It seems like they have some records from our Earth as we know it and some stories from that time. (hide spoiler)]

26%: (view spoiler)[ I'm intrigued by Jude and the forest rebels. Wonder how they came by a relationship with the chimeras. The politics of names is interesting here--chimera vs. gargoyle.

I wonder why the lake is such a point of contention between the humans and the gargoyles? Maybe because the gargoyles live underground?

I really like the easy banter between Rumor & Braedon. I suspect there's a budding f/f relationship between Dahlia and Nyx as well (I love Nyx as a name!). (hide spoiler)]

--Really fascinated by the chimera's connection to the moon & how they can send feelings via vibrations. Wonder why Nyx can feel it too? I thought it might be because she's deaf but she said she could do it even before she lost her hearing...
--I really don't think releasing Vala is going to be the end of their troubles... and will they all even make it to Dayside? They keep taking one hit after another!

--Yeah, I pretty much figured that releasing Vala wouldn't be the end of all of their problems. I'm really intrigued by the fact that Alpha colony or some of the humans, at least, seem to be helping Reaper... I wonder what they stand to gain from that.
--I think I've lost interest in the internal dialogue of the some of the characters though. The will they/won't they bit is just frustrating/exhausting. I WANT SOME ACTION!
