Stephanie | 2 comments So here is what I think I remember:
- read the book in the late 1990s
- seem to remember it being pretty lengthy
- romance/survival type book about a woman who has to survive on her own in the frontier/west (can't remember if she got lost or if the rest of her travel party died)
- I feel like she finds a man or a man finds her somehow. (could be part Native American). I seem to remember there being a lot of snow at one point.
- I feel like he was a bit guy who liked to wear animal skins, and they live together for awhile and fall in love; I feel like he might have to leave at some point.
- maybe it had something to do with the Donner party, but I could be confusing another book
- the title could have had something to do with 'wolves' or 'wolf' (not Julie of the Wolves).

Sorry I don't remember more details, figured I would give it a shot and see if anyone might know!

Stephanie | 2 comments I feel like he or she gets sick, and he has to leave her alone. Might be the first person she sleeps with? le maybe her husband had died earlier in the book?
