Ilona | 3740 comments OCTOBER CHALLENGE: STORY TIME
Duration: October 1, 2017 to October 31, 2017

It’s (short) story time!

Our theme for this month is folk/fairy tales, which is the perfect opportunity for a short story challenge. Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, the are only a few pages long, easy to read in one sitting.

For this challenge, we ask you to read folk, and fairy tales, short stories and poems.
Alternatively, if you like, you can choose to combine reading a modern retelling AND the story its based on.

Let’s revisit the stories of our childhood, how many can you read?

This challenge was based on ideas from Alisia and Jennifer, and Jennifer will lead this challenge. Thank you!

Elina Tola (Bookeliina) (elinatola) | 94 comments For october I plan to read some (if not all) of the stories from:
1 -Selected Tales by Edgar Allan Poe :( :( :( didn't even start it.
2 -Gothic Short Stories ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some of the stories were amazing, some not so. Very appropriate for the weather outside - gloomy, cold and raining all the time.
3 -Latviešu šausmu stāsti Latvian horror stories⭐️⭐️ Not a very good collection, so picked up another one that ended up being jost as bad Latviešu tumsas stāsti ⭐️⭐️
and to finish Memories by Lang Leav - I red a few poems and I'm leaving the rest for november.
So, I finished 3 books (less than planned and more than expected).

I have now read: Grimm's Fairy Stories by Jacob Grimm (24/10/17)

Here's the link to my review >>

Sadly, I don't think there will be time for more folk/fairy tales this month - bookwise I'm meeting myself coming back!
