Hi you linked all your photos again but this time I think I know which one you mean.

Goodreads is a cataloging website so we don't replace covers (unless upgrading from poor quality) instead we create Alternate Cover Editions (ACEs). Most users want to shelf the exact edition they read. So the book you linked and asked us to update the book cover for... Can you give us the ISBN so we can verify the details before adding a new edition and cover.

Джонни | 9 comments It is not a new edition, I just thought that the scan I have is of a better quality than the current one.

Empress (the_empress) Hi Джонни,

Updating the cover with better quality one is okay unfortunately the colors are slightly different which means the cover you are providing qualifies for ACE (Alternate Cover Edition). Would you like us to create that edition in the database?

Just FYI I have replaced the image for the other one with the image currently on Amazon which seems to uses the same colors :

Джонни | 9 comments Well, I don't know about the ACE. The ISBN of the book I own is the same. Books with ACE can have the same ISBN? Do you need any more information?

Yes, when books are re-printed with the same ISBN but different cover that qualifies as Alternate-cover edition. Or at least that is what we call it on Goodreads. Often those are already in the system (for more popular books) and that is why checking the "all editions" section is a good idea.

What you can do is confirm for me the publishing date from your edition as well as the page count.
I've added the ACE edition here:

You need to use the "switch to this edition" link on that edition's page to avoid shelving a duplicate.

Джонни | 9 comments 1st argentinian edition: 2002
2nd argentinian revised edition: 2009

printed on March 2014

The book says 192 p, which I thought was the number of pages, but I only counted 184, not including the cover

Empress (the_empress) Added Mach 2014 as Pub date and left 183 as page count.

We do not count covers and empty pages in age count. This is the rule for the page count on GR. Please let me know if 183 or 184 is accurate?

The number of pages in a book is meant to include all content except for advertisements and preview chapters for other books. Included end material may include acknowledgments, afterwords, appendices, bibliographies, glossaries, indexes, notes, and suggested discussion questions.
Page numbers should match the page numbers as listed in the book. If a book begins on page 6, for example, do not subtract from the final page count to determine the “actual” number of pages - simply list the number on the last page with countable content.

Джонни | 9 comments p 184 is blank, so 183 pages
