Five by Five
How to Build a Better Monster
Pumpkin Pie and Monsters
Frankenstein Who?
Halloween Horrors

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 935 comments If no-one else wants it, I can take the non-fiction book. I am planning on reading The Sixth Extinction An Unnatural History by Elizabeth Kolbert by the middle of October.

message 12: by Filipa (new)

Filipa | 68 comments I like Halloween Horrors. :)

I think I can do most of the tasks (thank you for taking non-fiction, Jenny!), but I'll start with Romance unless someone really wants it.

Can you add another section for "Energy to Bring Monster to LIfe" - we need 10 books for that

Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) Checking in :) I can take set at a college for my first task

I will be reading Asylum by Madeleine Roux

Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) Filipa wrote: "I like Halloween Horrors. :)"

I'll second Halloween Horrors for the team name :)

message 19: by Alison (Lady Coffin) (last edited Sep 29, 2017 05:33PM) (new)

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1434 comments I will look and see what I have for some of these....

1 book where only a head is on the cover
1 book where only a torso is on the cover (a little bit of arms is okay)
1 book where only arms or hands are on the cover
1 book where only legs or feet are on the cover

Then I will get back to you.

Oh, and I can take the Vampire book unless someone else really wants it. Or I could do the Science Fiction.
Do any of you like Historical?
If not I will see if I have one that would work for (1797-1851)

Very good actually, which is something I wasn't able to say for a long while. But this past year has been really good for me.

How about you?

Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) Hi Filipa :)

I was looking at the books I had already planed on reading in October and I think actually unless someone else wants it I can take the sci-fi book task as my first one instead. I plan to read All Systems Red by Martha Wells. If after I finish that no one else has read one for the set at a college or university task the I can still read asylum for that or I can just use it for an extra wattage book.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1434 comments Here are some options I can read

I could use these for Legs and feet
Being Nikki (Airhead, #2) by Meg Cabot Spying in High Heels (High Heels, #1) by Gemma Halliday The Witch's Daughter (The Witch's Daughter, #1) by Paula Brackston Vamps and the City (Love at Stake, #2) by Kerrelyn Sparks
Have these for Head
Dark Frost (Mythos Academy, #3) by Jennifer Estep Midnight Jewel by Richelle Mead
For hands and arms
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling The Clockwork Scarab (Stoker & Holmes, #1) by Colleen Gleason (& set in 1837-1901)
For torso on cover
Nuts (Hudson Valley, #1) by Alice Clayton Shatter (Unbreakable Bonds, #2) by Jocelynn Drake The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton

Sounds good to me :)

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1434 comments I am not saying I will take them all but figured it was better to find stuff just-in-case. I also have two in asking about torso and hand/arm.

Makes sense, I'll probably follow suit and think of some that can fit that I wanted to read in October as well. Like you said just in case.

The hand/arm and the leg/feet one is proving harder to find stuff than I thought lol

EDIT:

Some potential books that I (or anyone really) could use for other tasks:

book set in Europe
The Last Necromancer by C.J. Archer
The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie
Curtsies & Conspiracies by Gail Carriger

book where only a head is on the cover
Darkness of Light (Darkness, #1) by Stacey Marie Brown UnEnchanted (An Unfortunate Fairy Tale, #1) by Chanda Hahn

book where only arms or hands are on the cover
Little Girls by Ronald Malfi Tease (Songs of Submission, #2) by C.D. Reiss

book where only legs or feet are on the cover
Stiff The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 935 comments Hi everyone. Nice to see so many good book choices here! I'll put Nixx down for sci-fi and Ali down for vampire to start. We can start reading on October 2.

Seems like the majority like Halloween Horrors. I'll ask to get our name changed.

message 33: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 935 comments Alison, unless someone else wants it you can take historical next if you want.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1434 comments Jenny wrote: "Alison, unless someone else wants it you can take historical next if you want."

ok, I have yet to find one, but I am sure I can when I actually do look. Unless someone is a Historical fan and then they are welcome to it.
:-)

I will, however, look at others that I have on hold and see what might come up soon.

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 935 comments @LaurLa let us know when you pick which book you want to read for first.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1434 comments I will pick books for next week after I see what the HG tasks are later tonight or maybe after. I know I have lots of "options" depending on what other people read. They can just be used for the Energy Generation.

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 935 comments I've given up trying to tame my TBR - it has a life of its own - like Christine which I just finished and LOVED IT! I couldn't read another book right away because I was so spooked out by the story, especially the ending..

That is why even with as good of a writer as he is I tend not to read most of his stuff. It sticks with me WAY TOO LONG and wakes me up at night.

As far as my TBR list, it is out of control, has a mind of its own and constantly growing.
