Awww, I love Death Note. I'm really not a big manga/anime fan. Death Note was actually the only manga I've ever read, but I really enjoyed the story! So happy that I gave it a try! I haven't finished it, but I want to. :) Anime is also pretty good if you're interested in that. I hope you enjoy it.

Yay for Game of Thrones. Don't let the page count scare you! Once you're in you don't care, you just read. Also don't give up if you don't remember all the characters at the beginning because there's A LOT of characters.

Even though there are a few, big, shocking events spread out through the books, the A Song of Ice and Fire series is known to be quite chunky in its volumes, and also quite slow-paced relative to its TV show counterpart. I personally find that there is a lot more focus on the politics and the character development than the action itself, which is a refreshing change with all the action-filled YA novels nowadays, but it does make for a slower read. It's honestly a matter of preference! The pace does not really change, if that's what you're asking. If anything, it gets a little bit slower around the fourth or fifth book.

message 776: by Emma (new)
