Definitely. I also love how Mahler is used in the soundtrack.

Yes, a delight to the ears as much as the images are to the eyes.

Also, I LOVE the cats in your avatar image. Just beautiful.

And ... by any chance, did you go to elementary school at Park Forest Elementary? I had a dear, dear friend named Kari that I’ve lost contact with during the intervening years.

message 104: by K.S. (new)

K.S. Trenten (cauldronkeeper) | 47 comments Thank you! No, I'm sorry, I never went to Park Forest Elementary. I'm sorry you've lost touch with your friend...I hope you're able to reconnect with her.

Tito the Incognito | 15 comments Chris wrote: "The Thing About Harry was much better than I was expecting... "

Glad that you enjoyed TTAH :) Hopefully I'll get to see it eventually if it gets uploaded to one of the streaming services I'm subscribed to. Until then, I never get tired of watching Love, Simon. Such a sweet, cute movie :)

I’ve moved around so much as a kid that losing touch with people is one of the biggest constants in my life. Maybe, someday ...

I do need to watch that one again one of the days.

The cats ARE lovely.

K.S. Trenten (cauldronkeeper) | 47 comments Thank you! Their names are Sage and Cinnamon. Sage is the gray and white would-be Spark who's trying to pretend the box is a TARDIS and he's a Time Lord. (If you don't get my Doctor Who and Girl Genius references, ignore me. :)) Cinnamon is the tabby princess who's claimed my feet. Sage starred in a poem recently at the Cauldron of Eternal Inspiration (my blog at http://www//inspirationcauldron.wordp...).

message 110: by Rick (new)

Rick | 1767 comments Awesome! And I’m sure that box is BIGGER ON THE INSIDE. 😼

My last cat was named Squash. He was my best friend.
He died in my arms and I miss him every single day.

message 111: by K.S. (new)

K.S. Trenten (cauldronkeeper) | 47 comments LOL, he'll do his best to make it so. :)

Aww, Squash is an adorable name. I'm sorry for your loss. We had a cat, Cricket, my husband and I for almost twenty years. It broke our hearts when we lost him.

message 112: by Rick (new)

Rick | 1767 comments Initially I couldn’t even contemplate getting another cat. At least not right away. And now I feel I’ve waited too long. We were together for over 15 years.

He was always waiting for me when I opened the door.
If I sat down, he was on my lap.
If I laid down on the couch, he was on my chest.
I probably could have trained him to use the toilet instead of the little box.
He would do the cat version of parkour in the living room in the middle of the night.
He would make friends with any crickets or mice that got into the house.
He would eat my Cheerios out of the bowl if I left it on the coffee table. And if I put Cheerios in his bowl, he’d devour them like candy.

message 113: by K.S. (new)

K.S. Trenten (cauldronkeeper) | 47 comments He sounds adorable. I know what you mean. I could never replace Cricket. All I could do was have other cats come and fill the void of loneliness left by his loss. Squash sounds like he was a very special cat.

message 114: by Robert (new)

Robert Dunbar | 628 comments Squash sounds lovely, and this reminds me of all the creatures I've lost my heart to over the centuries.

Robert Dunbar | 628 comments Rick wrote: "For all the great M/M films I’ve seen and own, the one that still rules for most watch is Trick."

We watched Trick, for the first time, last night, because I really needed something to take my mind off the collapse of civilization. It worked. Adorable film. Thanks for suggesting it.

message 116: by Rick (new)

Rick | 1767 comments Glad you liked it Robert.

Wouldn’t it be neat to have those two actors back and reprising their roles for a sequel, “Trick plus Twenty”

😹😹😹

message 118: by Rick (new)

Rick | 1767 comments Robert wrote: "So? More recommendations?"

😹😹😹

I watched a French miniseries not long ago called Proud. It’s a drama, not a comedy, so it’s a certainly a bit heavier. But it was quite good.

message 119: by Robert (new)

Robert Dunbar | 628 comments Proud? I will look for it.

Rick | 1767 comments Robert wrote: "Proud? I will look for it."

Fiertés in French. Three episodes, each about 15 or so years apart, that follows the same characters.

Have you seen these?
My Beautiful Laundrette (1985)
Maurice (1987)
Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss (1998) This one is a rom-com.
Get Real (1998)
Latter Days (2003)
Boy Culture (2006)
Were the World Mine (2008)
Beautiful Thing (1996)
The Way He Looks (2014)

Rick | 1767 comments Robert wrote: "So? More recommendations?"

Have you seen Elliot Loves (2012)? The film splits time between two points in a man’s life, when he’s 10-12 and trying to figure out his relationship with his mom, and then as a young adult trying to find the “Mr. Right.” Another light-hearted, but warmly charming comedy.

Yes, all of them... I think. There's a title or two I need to check. And I'll be looking for Elliot Loves.

Thank you!

Mauro Sala (salamaro) | 35 comments Happy Together by Kar Wai Wong (1997) it is definitely the M/M movie I have seen more times and the end keeps touching me deeply. Actually... I should watch it again!

Ezra Miller has gotten himself into so much trouble these days.

message 128: by Paul (new)

Paul Manytravels (mountainhighonbooks) Who is Ezra Miller and why is he in trouble?

message 129: by Rick (new)

Rick | 1767 comments The actor who played Patrick in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. For awhile there in Hawaii he was getting arrested on weekly basis, it seems, he’s been accused of grooming, operating a cult and holding people captive with his mesmerizing personality. He’s also been unreachable to serve legal documents to him, so the police in the US are not real happy with him these days. A quick news search should pull all kinds of stuff.

message 130: by Rick (new)

Rick | 1767 comments I just finished Escape the Field - basically a mash up of elements from Children of the Corn, In the Tall Grass, Escape Room, Cube, Battle Royale, Maze Runner, Hunger Games and the TV show Lost.

Ryan Mack (ryanmack) | 1 comments I have seen the movie "Weekend" directed by Andrew Haigh a handful of times, it's a must watch queer film!

Such an intimate beautiful and honest love story. Check it out!

Oh, wait, M/M, sorry! That's one of my favorite F/F movies. (sheepish grin)

Come to think of it, I don't know if Death in Venice counts either.

Hmm, M/M, I loved Maurice, too. I loved the first two episodes of Brideshead Revisted, the original with Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons, but I'm not sure if that would count as a M/M movie.

Oh! Oh! Christopher and His Kind! Matt Smith as Christopher Isherwood! That's definitely M/M and definitely a favorite of mine! (heart)

I must track that one down.

message 141: by Madeline (new)

Madeline I really liked Handsome Devil, but it may not be considered M/M. As a former rugby player, I enjoyed the accuracy, which is not often portrayed. Additionally, I enjoyed that the characters were not pressured to date just because they were the only queer people in the school. Highly recommend.
