Aitch Diamond | 85 comments Looking for people that would be interested in joining this group. Rules are you only join if you are willing to critique someone else's work in exchange for yours. I am limiting it to 12 chapters maximum to start off with so that people aren't put off by the work load as we are all busy writing yea? Anyway here's the link.

Dave Schultz | 19 comments I'm interested swapping. Could do twelve chapters, but would rather do more. It's up to you.
My book is called Calumet Monore: The Best Apocalypse Ever, It's 80,900 words long. Here's the query pitch...

The world was the world, then kablooey, mushroom clouds, and a swift kick to the crotch. The nukes weren’t enough to kill the planet, not like the scientists said they would. They just drove folks into bunkers and fortresses where most everybody sat, and moaned, and went bat-shit crazy, but Calumet Monroe doesn’t care. Orphaned at birth, and raised in foster homes, there was nothing in the old world for him, but in the PAA (Post Apocalyptic America) Calumet has it all: a hot rod, a sexy, ass-kicking, vampire girlfriend, and a place with the Flock, a gang of stealthy, highway marauders. For the first time in his crumby eighteen years of existence, things didn’t completely suck, but things aren’t all rainbows and unicorns either. The youngest member of the Flock, an infant named Adele, is sick and getting sicker. The countdown is on. The Flock has to go to Pill City, AKA the castle, a medicine making facility on the old University of Illinois campus, to get the drugs to keep her alive. Easy peasy? Not a chance. Cal and the Flock face steam freaks, religious fanatics, and man eating pigs to get to Pill City for the infant’s antibiotics. In the end the baby makes it, only to be kidnapped by Pill City’s doctors. Ripped and torn, frayed and exhausted, the Flock recalibrate and find new steel in their bond. The story ends as they head west to get their baby back.

I can swap, 12 for 12 or do the whole book. Your choice.

If you're interested, let me know. I'm dave@hansonpickups.com

Aitch Diamond | 85 comments hi chess pawn, hi dave. bit late in the uk now so im gonna take a look at the best way to make this work tomorrow. apparently there is a way to up load excerpts of you work in the explore tab on goodreads. or maybr googledocx link will work. that way people can get a sample of your writing anx decide if they wsnt more ie the email route. personally i fjnd that a bit clunky. but any way tomoz.....

Aitch Diamond | 85 comments ok guys if you go to the group page (see link above) I explain how you can upload a sample of your work to goodreads itself. It will only let you upload a few chapters at a time but it is a good way for people to get a feel of your writing, make some initial comments and decide if you are someone whose work they can read. Or just go ahead and swap, whatever pleases. I will send you my 12 chapters dave
