Suggested
break down of reading so that you can check in and let us know how you're doing. The following breakdown is purely a suggestion and is therefore not set in stone.Rather than putting dates for each section I've done it so that it takes into account that not everybody will necessarily have the book at the same time.
Week 1: 77
Week 2: 77
Week 3: 77
Week 4: 77
I'm only 22% done, but I'll get some more reading done this weekend. It reminds me a little bit of Wolves of the Calla so far.

It seems like storms keep showing up in my books to match up with Hurricane Irma lately.....or maybe I'm just more aware. I especially enjoyed the tale young Roland tells Bill Streeter.
I'm going to check out the Dark Tower graphic novels from the library. I want to learn the missing details on the fall of Gilead and battle at Jericho.
I started on it. I'll try and read the rest this month. I really want to read or reread if it was a long time ago some other King novels that are mentioned in the Dark Tower series. I've read in the last few years The Stand, The Shining, IT, Salem's Lot. Ones I want to read or reread in the next year or so are Insomnia, The Talisman and the Eyes of the Dragon.

Since I read it before Ted appeared in book 7, I didn't understand his powers.?...maybe for the best. I also read Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales for the breaker story and the Little Sisters of Eluria. Great collection.
I read Insomnia when it came out but I'm not clear what the connection was since it was pre-Dark Tower for me. Are the low men the little guys running around at night? Does the main guy figure into the larger DT picture? I'd read it again if so. I've heard awful things about The Regulators and Desperation was not a favorite.
Read The Eyes of the Dragon last month and thought it was a wonderful YA tale. I'd like to read 'Salem's Lot again too.....soon.
I just finished the book! I'm so happy that I re-read the series before reading this one. It sucks that it took me this long to do so, but I'm glad I didn't just read it on its own when it came out. Thanks Lynn for letting me have extra time to read book #7 so we could finish this one now. It's been so fun talking about the books as we read them!! Are you enjoying the graphic novels?
Yay Catherine! We did it! When we started out talking about reading the whole series this year back in December, I didn't realize it would give me such a sense of accomplishment at the end. I think of the characters often and I'm going to read them again I'm sure.I've read the first three graphic novels. The artwork is so dark and rich. So far, the story is chronological from Roland's qualification as a gunslinger, the ka-tet's trip to Meijis and return to to Gilead. I'm impatiently waiting for a library copy of The Dark Tower: Fall of Gilead so that I can read the story our books only hinted at. But, there are no words to describe the Crimson King drawings.

Oh yikes!!! Scary! How cool! I have to take a Stephen King break until next year ... I need to finish the rest of my Serial Reader challenge and my non-fiction challenge and I'm running out of time. But, maybe we could read another King book as a group or buddy read in January or some other month early next year? I would like to re-read 'Salem's Lot, but if you're planning to read it sooner I'm sure we can find something else. :)
I'll wait and read 'Salem's Lot with you. I barely remember the plot and only a glimmer of Father Callahan.
Great! I don't think I've read it since the 80's so it will pretty much be like reading it for the first time for me :)
