Jenny (notestothemoon) | 846 comments I suppose I best get the ball rolling! This year is coming and going far too fast!

One nomination per person

**There must be 6 months between repeating a theme i.e. the themes/genres - children's books, 20th Century female writers, a book with a flower in the title, a book set on an island, comedy, kids as the main characters and Australian cannot be nominated**

3 days to nominate!

And as I'll be going on hols on Sunday for nearly a fortnight, if it wins, I'd like to nominate (and vote for) Little Boy Lost, one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read. After WW2, a widower travels to a French children's home to meet a small boy who may - or may not - be his son. He tentatively builds up a relationship with him, while he tries to determine who the boy is and what to do about it.

Books set in the future. Not necessarily SF but such books as Brave New World by Huxley or the Mortal Engines quartet by Philip Reeve.

Not another young adult book! I don't mind the odd one, but personally I'd prefer this to be primarily an adult book group!

Heather (hpduck) | 354 comments Brave New world isn't a kids book...or did you mean Mortal Engines? actually books set in a the future wouldn't be bad. I mean there are tons of books to choose from. Although, we did just do dystopian novels like 3 or 4 months ago, which are generally set in the future.
