Deena | 16 comments Assalamu'alaikum...

Just realize this group didn't have any discussion topic yet. So how bout everybody share their opinion about which is the best book on sirah nabawiyyah they've read so far?

I've read a couple but I'd love a recommendation on other books as well.

Let's make a great discussion!

Wassalamu'alaikum,

Deena

Aimme | 12 comments I've read Al-Mubarrakfurry Shirah Nabawiyah, who won the best prize for writing shirah. I think it is the best chronologically.
Said Ramadhan Al Buthy was the best for the analysis for every event on Shirah Nabawiyah. Later you'll find many lesson for movement analysis after you read Syeikh Munir Al-Ghadban's Shirah.

Those three books using different approach to present Shirah. I would like to reccommend those three titles who want to know and to applicate best knowledge from shirah in daily life.

Fazlur | 1 comments I think Shirah Nabawiyah by Said Ramadhan Al Buthy can reflected every moment. So not just chronologic. Every moment can be analyze with the purpose of islamic movement.

Deena | 16 comments I've read Al-Mubarakfury's and Al-Ghadban's shirah. Both have different approach. If you wanted to know more about the history, I'd say Al mubarakfury is best.

But Al-Ghadban has an analysis aproach on the politics of the Prophet SAW. I find it more exiting to read Al-Ghadban's. I guess I'm more of an analyzer than historian :p

Overall, i'll choose Al-Ghadban's :)

Suhaila (suhailasun) I think Al-Raheeq Al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar) is the most comprehensive but it's a hard read.

Tariq Ramadan's In the Footsteps of the Prophet is really good too; it's written in story form with the author's reflections inserted every once in awhile. I've heard that it's one of the best seerah books for non-Muslims or as a review/intro to the seerah.

New2n | 2 comments I've read Al-Mubarakfury's, Said Ramadhan Al Buthy's and Al-Ghadban's Shirah Nabawiyah. Historicaly,Al-Mubarakfury's is more complete than others. But,I more excited to read Said ramadhan Al-Buthy's and Al-Ghadban because they could be reflection and guidence for the nowadays Islamic movement.

Deena | 16 comments The sealed nectar is one of my to-read books. It's sounds good so i'll probably change my mind on the best book on Shirah. I'll let you know :)

Maya Sari (Maya_Sari_Syahrul) | 3 comments Assalamu'alaykum..

Aimme | 12 comments Sealed Nectar wrote by Shafiurrahman Al-Mubarakfury right? So, i presume it is just the same with what we have known in Indonesia. Or maybe it is actually different?
Anyway, Al-Mubarakfury's shirah was translated by two publisher, i.e., Rabbani press and Al-Kautsar. I read and prefer the first.

Deena | 16 comments I just realise that Shirah Nabawiyah and Sealed Nectar is written by the same author. Although it's not recognised in goodreads as the same since the writings are defferent.

I haven't found a copy of the sealed nectar yet so I'm not sure. Does anybody know wether its the same book?
