New Blank Cover Just Appeared & Missing from Drop Down List

Hi,

Can someone please assist me with this issue? My cover for the book Homegrown Heroes- Ryan is gone/changed and it is also missing from the add book/author list.

How I discovered this?...

A reviewer provided me with a link to her review today and I noticed that the book she reviewed has no cover picture. I am not sure how this happened but I am hoping you can remove this blank cover and add this review to the correct version.

I have not made any changes to my cover since June 10th or 11th so I am not sure where this came from.

In addition when I tried to link to the correct cover here in this thread to show you it, I notice my book Homegrown Heroes doesn't even show up anymore.

Lastly, I noticed this book no longer comes up in when I search it in the main search engine box of the GR site. It's almost as if it has been removed.


Can you please help correct these issues?

Looks like some of these issues have been corrected. Thanks.

However on my book page it now shows a third copy/edition of this book with a blank cover, can this be removed since it never existed in the first place?

Hi Kara, that book has a valid ISBN. It came in from a Smashwords database import, and the Smashwords page shows it does indeed exist:

I have uploaded the cover to that record so it is no longer blank. Be aware that cover images are heavily cached and will take a day or two to roll through the whole database.

The other ebook edition has a different cover and I can see that it's no longer available on Smashwords. Please be aware that GR policy is to keep all published covers and editions, even those that are out of print or no longer available. This policy is in place because users like to shelve the edition that matches the one they own.

Hi Z-squared thanks for the information.

However, I'm not sure which book you're referring to. I have only ever had two covers and two ISBNs for this book, both in Smashwords, here on GRs and on Amazon.

There was never a blank cover. I don't know why I suddenly have a blank cover showing as an edition on this book's page.

I don't mind the original cover remaining, that has been there for some time. However, it is the blank one that I am confused about and would like removed.

As you can see, all three editions (which all have unique, valid ISBNs or ASINs) now have covers. From certain pages, you may still occasionally see a blank thumbnail image, but that's temporary. As I said above, cover images are cached. What that means in plain English is that it'll take a day or two for ALL thumbnails of THAT edition EVERYWHERE on the site to convert to the cover image I uploaded today.

As for why there are three editions, at some point you must have had an ebook edition for sale with ISBN 9780991918249 and the old (dog tag) cover. The third mysterious once-blank-but-now-no-longer edition is the ebook with ISBN 9780991918256, which is currently for sale at Smashwords.
