Sorry, quick question about being an alt - not sure when/if I will be joining a team but if I start a book that can be used for the Free Space (or even the 1st shelf called this afternoon), can I use it or will I need to read something "fresh" once picked?

I guess I can always just read along anyways for the fun of it :)

(Haven't started it yet but was thinking about starting something tonight)

Good question, Cathy M. Typically, if you started the (FS or shelf qualifying) book when game players started reading (i.e.: after shelf announcement), you'd be able to count it towards your team's stamp. If you started the book before the shelf announcement, you'd have to start over for it to count. Does that make sense?

You're more than welcome to read along and jump in to chat with anyone/any team you'd like and/or on the round's discussion thread. :)

In fact, its a brilliant idea to read along with Bingo, especially if you're an alternate/standby player. Makes it so much easier if you do need to jump in to help out a team :)

And we've already had to signup 2 alternate players even before the game has started, so you never know.

Danielle, its much easier to play than to explain. Basically, we give you a shelf to pick a book from - thousands of books to choose from OR we give you a task - this week was 2nd, 3rd or 4th book in a series. The books you pick are always your choice from the lists or tasks given :)
