SOLVED. Weird SF from the 70's set in Australia, had edgy physics [s]

Hi,
A little help if you all are able. Not a lot to go on. In the late 70's I read a scifi book that took place in Australia, had something to do edgy physics, and had Dreamtime in the title. I wish I could remember more. I do remember loving it, and would love to track it down.
