The discussion of reading around others made me think of a group I stumbled across recently. Silent Book Club has chapters all over the USA and is probably open to people starting chapters elsewhere. https://silentbook.club/

I haven't been to my local one yet because of schedule conflicts, so I can't comment on the experience.
