I found that the forthcoming To Siri With Love: A mother, her autistic son, and the kindness of a machine by Judith Newman already has 7 GR ID numbers describing an apparent total of 14 editions. I suspect some must be duplicates. The official web site at Quercus lists 5 editions, but I believe that there are CD and electronic versions by Harper Audio, which will include distribution by audible.com. How should all these GR listings be "combined"? Must one analyze these 14 listings one-by-one by deleting those with identical ISBNs before using the GR combine software algorithm?

The editions are now all combined. https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...
However, each one has a distinct ISBN or ASIN, so there is nothing to delete.

Thanks. Apparently, you finished what I started to do before it occurred to me to raise the question. I didn't see a quick way to scan all 14 versions for their ISBN/ASIN numbers. I suppose super-librarians may have additional tools. For my future reference, would the "combine" algorithm have issued a warning if there were two versions with identical ISBN/ASIN numbers?
No, use the all editions page in expanded mode to see if the editions all have appropriate ASIN / ISBNS. Then for those that don't the next step is to check if an alternate Cover or other alternate edition. Only merging those that your absolutely sure are duplicates

There is a warning when you add a new book with an ASIN or ISBN that is already on GR, or edit an existing edition to add an ASIN or ISBN to it.
(Unless someone has added the ASIN in the isbn field, or the isbn in the ASIN field, or the isbn13 in the isbn10 field, resulting in a truncated isbn; which usually creates a duplicate that needs to be merged, unless the cover is different).
Especially for audiobook editions there usually are multiple valid isbn's for the same title.

Not for this. Nor does staff.

Yup, which is why I linked the expanded list. I then visually inspected each one to see if any looked odd, truncated, etc. None did.
