BR: A Duke to Remember
Sorry I took so long to comes back RL interferes with my reading:)Anyway I don't really mind . We will have the third KB next month I assume?
I have read the highway man, but that is the only one in that series. (I don't mind rereading as I cannot remember it) The madness of viscount atherborne is also on my TBR. And the thief takers sounds intriguing. I like it when there's a mystery to solve.
I have only read one or two from each of the authors you listed. So I am open to suggestions there.
It will be interesting to see what Giselle thinks when she is able to pop back in.
And
Any thoughts on timing for the third one?I can work around any time, I don't have work commitments or anything like that.

I can start in about two weeks. Will that work?

I like it when there's a mystery also. So maybe consider The Theif Taker the front-runner at the moment, pending Giselle's input? We could have an intrigue/mystery BR theme.
No need to decide now - just thought to get the ball rolling with suggestions.

Are you two interested in reading the next book in August? I can start sometime next week.
Giselle did you finish this one?

I will PM her.
Joanna, you choose the date and I will fit in with you. Definitely looking forward to Alex's story.
Hey guys... So I already talked to Loriidae but my anxiety got so bad for a few months. I stopped talking to everyone including my family. I basically couldn't deal with any social stuff at all. And I didn't read at all. So I didn't finish this book. I did just recheck it out from the library though and intend to finish it, read the 2nd and join in with you on other books. I am so, so sorry and will try to better in the future. Can't wait to finish this book and then read your thoughts!
Hi Giselle, so happy to hear from you. I hope you are feeling better now, and I don't want our BR to be a source of stress. Just join in when you can, we're happy to have you and enjoy your POV when discussing books and anything else. I don't think any of these books have been necessary to read in order. They seem like they would work on their own.
Yes I think they could be read as standalone, although it is nice to have all the side characters in order.
Our Buddy reads aren't a source of stress! I just had a really bad and badly timed anxiety attack. Absolutely not your fault at all! I've finished this one (I was sooo close to the end when I stopped in July. Grrr!!) and have the 3rd on hold at the library. I liked this book but wasn't in love with it. I guess I saw too many flaws. (I was having a hard time enjoying most things I was reading in the beginning of the year.) And I found the end very predictable. But I still liked it and am excited for the next!

Good deal! Glad you were finally able to finish it :-). I think you may like the next one better, not as much the insta-lust in it.

Yes loved the third one. I felt she has really matured as a writer. Having read the first two of the the lords of worth, which was her first trilogy, you can notice the difference from that series to this one being written later.
Also, can I know your guy's reading schedule? I don't want to look ahead at your other chats so I'm not spoiled. And are you going to read The Lady in Red (Season for Scandal #3.5) in December? It's supposed to come out on the 5th and I can definitely finish the 3rd in time to read that next month.
We've been reading about one a month, and yes, I am sure we will want to read the novella. We are up to the short novella in the Worth series, #2.5, which we will start soon. Her new series comes out in late February.
Sounds good. Yes I would like to read it as soon it comes out. :) So we are about to start
soon and then finish out the trilogy with
in mid November. We will be all set to read
in December
Giselle, Joanna what series do we want to read next year? I am not sure if Ursula is watching this thread?Any suggestions? These are on my list!
Sarah MacLean
Regan Walker
Alissa Johnson
I have read all of MacLean's books and have enjoyed this series. I have not enjoyed her latest much, though. I wouldn't mind re-reading though.
I would be up for either of the others though. Looks like they may have been part of the BOTM at some point . I can send Ursula a message to see. I think she is an Alissa Johnson fan.

Yes, I love that series! As for Regan Walker or Alissa Johnson, both are on my TBR. I did listen to one Alissa Johnson, but the narrator ruined it. Not this series. So, Regan Walker would probably be my first choice, since she's entirely new to me.
A couple other options from my alarmingly large pile (there are about 50 more than I thought).
The Wild Marquis
Unmasking Miss Appleby

Hi ladies, been so busy at work and at home (family-ugh!) I have not checked GR in a bit. I have read all Alissa Johnson's books (enjoyed them) but have never read Regan Walker. Maybe that author? I am certainly up for another BR- thanks for thinking of me :)

I had just been thinking that I hadn't seen you active for a few days. Glad to see you back on GR!
The Regan Walker book was an early BOTM. The thread is here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... After seeing that, I realized she is an author that's active in the HR group, plus she has a website I have checked out a few times. It has good rec lists on it.

I noticed Andrea's review mentioned it as a BOTM, so I looked for it. It was Nov of 2015, so two years ago. The thread is in the Gaol.
Ok.... so it isn't the BOTM? Or there is another one, too? So how many are there- is it just a BOTM for a particular group of GR friends, and there are lots of different groups? Help for the newbie please!!!
There used to be two books a month, but it's just down to one now. Threads for any of the older ones are still active if you want to comment but have been moved to the Gaol. I guess I am not sure if we do a BR if we should post on the old thread from two years ago or if we should just start a new one. Sorry, I know I am making this more complicated than it should be.
Well hopefully Giselle hasn't read Regan Walker otherwise it will be back to other suggestions. Also are we talking January? No worries with me. Have you guys got family things or otherwise going on then?
Regan Walker looks great except for the fact that it doesn't look like any of her books are available on audio. (Crying face) But I'm sure I'll make do. It may just mean that I'll read her books a little slower. But I'm pretty much fine with whatever you want! I don't know about you guys but I LOVE fairytale retellings. So much. It's actually how I got into historical romance books because I was looking for more reteillings and found Eloisa James' series of retellings. So I thought I'd just jot down a few that are on my list that I've heard either have fairytale elements or are retellings or that some of the books are retellings or have elements just in case any of you are interested.
Loriidae, if you want to read Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake together next year that would be awesome! It's my last series that I need to read by her and I've been meaning to get to it.

Do you mostly listen then? Are any of your suggestions in audiobook?

I listen to about 99% of my books. But having something to physically read will be good for me. Just slower. I think all but Everland Everafter and Fiery Tales are on audio.
I want to make a google spreadsheet to track our books if that's okay with you all.

Excellent idea.
I like audio as well.

Here's what I got. Feel free to edit, add your names, add books you're interested in, book of the month picks for the group, and anything else you want! I'm thinking I should add an author line. And maybe a goodreads link line too? To our discussion?https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
So guys.... I requested Lady in Red from Netgalley and got approved! So I have it early. Haha. I still haven't read the 3rd book. Still waiting for it to come off of hold. Do y'all ever use netgalley?

Recently have tried it out and went a little overboard. Too much of a good thing, and most of it is not so good!
