The ending felt rather quick to me, and the other shoe never dropped like I was expecting.
Brida died super quick, at the hands of Uhtred daughter. So much for her magic. Crucifying Christian captives though..wow.
I was right about the Bishop's wife being the prostitute who was causing issues.
His death seems strange to me. I'm kind of disappointed by the whole thing. I'm really hoping there is more to his story to come. But there probably won't be.
Finan embarrassing his brother was great, but again shorter than I expected. That whole final chapter seemed to wrap everything up a bit too nearly I thought.
I'm really hoping he actually takes Babbenaug in the next book though.
Overall another

I agree everything wrapped up pretty quickly but I did like it when Uhtred realized he was behaving rashly. Also really liked it that the was no great rescue at the last moment. Yeah that whole situation with Leofstan and Mus seemed odd so I too am hoping for fleshing out in the next book. (Especially with his son Father Oswald standing protectively close to her at the end.)
