Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Worst character in the Harry Potter series?
Id say the worst character is Voldemort and the best is Severus snape because at the end he ended up helping harry potter kill Voldemort and people finally realized he had a heart
Cornelius Fudge. It is so frustrating that his whole community is in danger and he refuses to do anything about it.
It's hard for me to understand how no one dislikes Draco as much as I do. On the one hand, I like that Rowling represented the variety of villainous characters, even as small as the rich school bully. But ultimately, all he ever is is due to his father's name, which is now disgraced. So when it comes time for him to show his own colors, he completely lacks backbone. He's all talk for the entire series, with nothing to stand behind it. It's almost tragic, but you're never really given a chance to care about him beforehand, so he's just pathetic through and through.

Actually, I'll have to change my answer from Draco to Pansy Parkinson. We know virtually nothing about her except that she actively tries to bring others down a couple times every book.
It's easy to say Umbridge. She represents the negative people in our lives, the degrading, undermining, bully. As I once heard someone put it "Voldemort is the villain we never hope to face. Umbridge is the villain we have to face every day." The character that annoys me the most however, is Filch. I get that he's a squib and therefore doesn't really belong in either world. That has made him bitter and angry towards everything. But taking his anger out on school children who had nothing to do with his lack of magic is just...unfair. They had no more control over his magical abilities than he did. He knows better than anyone what it feels like to be the outcast, the forgotten, the mocked, but he did nothing to help others in that position. He let his anger and frustration fester and became an angry, bitter, resentful old man. He'd honestly have fit in much better in the Muggle world. Not sure why he never left Hogwarts at all. He's a villain of his own creation.
WHOEVER HERE LOVED SIRIUS SHOULD HATE KREACHER! It was legit 50% his fault Sirius died. He lied to Harry (who the other 50% belongs too, cuz he was so dumb and didn't listen to smart, badass Hermione's advice that Voldy was just playing with him) and then Harry the dumbo decides to come looking and then Sirius dies trying to save Harry. That's why I despise Harry and Kreacher. But the number 1 character I hate is..... drum roll....no one said this...DUMBLEDORE!! HE'S SO DUMB AND BOTHERSOME LIKE LEGIT HE DRINKS A POTION TO MAKE HIMSELF WEAK AND DOESNT EVEN GIVE A POOP THAT PEOPLE WILL BE DEPRESSED HE IS DEAD AND NOW HOGWARTS WILL BE IN THE HANDS OF EVIL DEATH EATERS!! He's so self-absorbed.
And can I mention the time he was like "oh harry we can't go save your parents, but let's use this amazing time-turner to save a HIPPOGRIFF instead!!"
I wouldn't say umbridge was a bad character to put in the series since she helped the stories plot evolve like it did. I didn't like Fudge though.
I guess it depends on what you mean by "worst". If I'm going with who I hated the most while reading the books it would be Umbridge for sure. I think its because she's the type of nasty person that we encounter in our own lives.
Well, I hate Umbridge with a passion, but then, you're not supposed to like her either. Of the characters one is expected to like, Mrs. Weasley is my least favourite.

Definatly Umbrige.
Next probably Snape. People always say that he was good all along and he showed it at the end but really, he only did what he did because he had a creepy love obsession with Lily, the person may I remind you, that he called a Mudblood when they had a fight and she stopped being friends with because he was playing around with the dark arts. When Lily and James were murdered when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, Snape stepped over James' corpse, left a small, screaming child whose parents had just died in front of him in his crib and hugged the dead body of Lily Potter.
Snape did what he did because he felt guilty about Lily and loved her. He still hated Harry and tormented him. He didn't care about the outcome of the war or anything else.
I'd have to go with Ginny. Her character development was so dry and I did not understand how Harry fell in love with her.
Ron. I'm sorry guys, I love Harry Potter too, but Ron (particularly movie Ron) was just so irritating.
my least favourite character? PETTIGREW. i HATED him. probably since when i read the books i really loved sirius and remus (and when they passed i was so devastated but yeah), and maybe its because of that i felt so much hatred towards pettigrew. and i swear every time he appears in the scene i just want to slice his head off. so glad he strangled himself. hahaha.
1. Cho Chang, a self obsessed and irrational (ironic considering shes ravenclaw) douchebag:
Harry:
Cho Chang: well if u like hermione then go out with her i want nothing to do with you you cheater
2. Fudge, an idiot who's literally trying to give himself false hope by keeping the Wizarding World ignorant of Voldemort's return
3. Voldemort xD

Umbridge. Needs to be in Azkaban pronto. Should not teach or hold any position of power ever. E V E R. Percy. There's a reason he wasn't in Hufflepuff folks. That power hungry son of a banshee. Pretty epic comeback during BoH, so he gets a gold star for that. But his family's full love and loyalty? Don't expect to see that again, Perce.
Voldemort, I guess? IDK, he kind of HAS to be on here, doesn't he?
Bellatrix. Kiss-butt. Not my daughter you bleep.
Fudge. Your everyday corrupt politician. Annoys me. Deserves a slap in the face.
Snape. Stalker, but can't seem to fully hate him (curse you, doe patronus.)
NOT Cho Chang. I mean, cut her some slack here, will you people? Death of a boyfriend + raging teenage hormones + rushing into a new relationship before she was even ready = nothing good. ever.
Same with Draco. I don't know, I just can't seem to really hate him. He needs to get off his high horse about blood status though.
And Pettigrew, well...he is an incredibly flawed human being, and that's all I'll say about that.
Ginny was just poorly developed (as was he relationship with Harry. I will never ship. Ever.)
Dursleys are comically awful. I hate Aunt Marge more. She deserved what she got.
I could go on. Probably will at some point. TTFN (ta-ta for now, obviously.)
Oh! It’s so Umbridge. Lemme tell you why:
-Abused students
-Interrupts McGonagall (Though, you have to admit, McGonagall handled it like a boss.)
-Basically a witch version of Trump
-Clears throat WAY to much
-Abused students
-Abused students
-Abused students
-Did I mention - Abused students
-Oh! And - Abused students
Had to rant a little, but second worst character would be Percy Weasley. I mean really? He abandoned his family for money, fame, and wealth. I see some others posting about Cho Chang, and I have to say, yeah. I agree.

WOW! Finally! Had to read through 87 comments to find someone who would mention: AUNT MARGE! She is just evil...
As for the purely less or worse developed character, I don't agree with all the Ginny's. Rowling doesn't talk much about her, but when she's with Harry it just feels right (it doesn't with Cho), and I think it's much more difficult to manage that without expressly talking about the character. For me one of the saddest moments of the series is when he decides to leave her in order to protect her.
So I guess the least developed character for me would have to be... McGonagall. Wouldn't you love to know more about her!? She rocks, she's that one character you could always trust to be there.
Umbridge is by far the worst character in Harry Potter and I hate her sooooo much! I would literally cringe while reading about her.
For me, Pansy Parkinson represents everything I hated about school! She is the never-going-to-come-of-age bully who NEVER changed! She was rowdy and arrogant all through the story! Apart from her, it is Dolores Umbridge with not an iota of doubt!!
I've not yet read the last book but here's a few who I LOATHE so far: Dudley
Draco (seriously, WHY do people love him?)
Bellatrix
Voldemort (I know he's the big bag guy but ooooohh god, I really hate him)
Umbridge (obviously)
Horace Slughorn (anyone who only wants to be friends with famous and smart people is a dick)
I'll edit my comment if I think of anyone else. (By the way, I can't hate Percy, I still find him funny even though he's the worlds biggest git or whatever they call him).

I know right? He has not a kind bone in his body. For the first 4 books at least I kept thinking, 'surely, deep, deep, deep down he is not a cold hearted slime ball. Surely he has some bit of kindness in him.'
NOPE. I feel like because he's pretty he gets too much forgiveness (from the fans I mean).
I think Draco was just a big whiny baby who had no redeemable qualities. Yes, Umbridge was detestable, but she liked it. Draco was nothing more than a school bully who hid under his dad's name to get out of trouble and was never actually capable of doing any real evil.He was a coward.
Snape and don't even try to tell me he wasn't horrible or that he was "protecting Harry" because he wasn't!
Jillian wrote: "Snape and don't even try to tell me he wasn't horrible or that he was "protecting Harry" because he wasn't!"I agree. He didnt give a shit about Harry and he was horrible at every chance he got.

YESSS! It makes me so mad when people try to defend him!
I'd have to say Cornelius Fudge... I never knew what a bowler hat was, so reading about him was always annoying for me. Then he was such a coward

Personally in the earlier books, quite a lot of the children seem quite under written, but i think you are right in the sense that harry probably stands out as poorly written (he still has special place in my heart though haha)
