Mike S (mscir) | 7 comments I am providing a picture I took of the cover of the book I just read, I don't have permission to upload it, please add it to the book information, or tell me how to modify it so it is acceptable. I cleaned it up on Photoshop and sized it to be the width you specified.

The book is here
[book:Visionaries and Seers: The People Who Saw Tomorrow|9476037

The image from my imgur acc't are here

The picture on Amazon is not as good imo.

Thank You,

Codex | 3403 comments What is the source of your uploaded image?

✲ ETA:
[I just noticed that you updated your original post.]
➜ Images manipulated by tools (such as Photoshop) may not be acceptable, as the result may no longer be representative.
If this is your own scan (assumed—please confirm), you are advised to post a link to the unmodified image as scanned.

Mike S (mscir) | 7 comments So this want's clear?

"I am providing a picture I took of the cover of the book I just read"

Please allow me to rephrase, I purchased the book, laid it on my desk, took a photo of it with my phone, emailed it to my desktop, cleaned it up with Photoshop, then uploaded it to imugr.

Is that helpful?

Codex | 3403 comments I see I missed the “I took” part; sorry.
I’ve since found and added an acceptable cover from Abebooks.

Mike S (mscir) | 7 comments Thanks Codex, that was fast, have a great night!

Mike S (mscir) | 7 comments Codex,
I looked at the image and the one I uploaded is much better looking than the one I see used on the book.

I can see the newly uploaded book cover here:

My imgur copy is here:

Is there something else I need to do to get a good copy used? I can resize it to any size you like using Photoshop, and save it as jpg, gif, png, whatever you find easiest to work with.

Codex | 3403 comments As mentioned before, a manipulated image would not be acceptable.
Not to debate this, but your submitted image shows (i.a.) a corrupted publisher logo (top centre) that clearly is not what appears on the cover itself.

The cover that has been uploaded for the book is both from an acceptable source and representative of the edition. This is sufficient to meet Goodreads policy.

Mike S (mscir) | 7 comments Your policy said we could submit pictures we took ourselves. It should go into more detail about the quality of the picture necessary.
