This month I looked through the topic suggestions and picked ones that you guys had thrown out there! I hope you enjoy :)

July 5th: Books Without Romance
-- A few (very, very few) people complained about the "shipping" topics lately, so I thought it would be good to talk about books that don't have a romantic subplot! This is a really hard one, so if you can't find any, you can talk about some where the romance is super super minor. Like barely mentioned... at all...

July 12th: Children's Books
--This can include Middle Grade (but try to recommend more than just Harry Potter and Percy Jackson!) Feel free to talk about your childhood faves or more recent reads.

July 19th: Books That Aren't Set In/Inspired By The Western World
--I know this is a long title, but I couldn't figure out how else to word it and still get the point across. Talk about books that are set outside of the Western World (so outside of North America and Western Europe) or if they are SFF, books that aren't inspired by those places (so no medieval setting fantasy!)

July 26th: Series That Got Better
-- We've talked about series that went downhill with each book, but talk about series that are worth pushing through the first (or first few...) books to get to the good stuff!

Esper Dee (esper_reads) | 1 comments I'm gonna have to look real hard for the books without romance. Even 1984 had romance, sort of. So far all I can think of is The Hobbit.

Tasya Dita (giselatasya) | 62 comments Love this month's topic, especially the first one since my most favorite yet underrated series definitely fits that category :D

matilde (matiswonderland) | 12 comments I actually could come up with 5 books for the No Romance topic, but I´m not home so I can´t film it (blogpost maybe)

And for the rest it´s like 1 or 2 books that fits.. hehe

thought of one more set in japan

message 20: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (goodreadscomrumbelle517) | 131 comments Non romance was, surprisingly, an easy topic, I just made a list, and I have quite a few but to be fair some of them have husband and wife relationships. Those aren't central plot points, though. I imagine if you read Stephen King there isn't a lot of romance. Children's books are easy to come up with, but the last two. I admit, I haven't read a lot of books that don't take place in Europe or American. Not sure if I can think of book series that got better throughout the series. Great topics!

Osbian Night | 38 comments Does Arctic count as Western?

Jackie (goodreadscomrumbelle517) | 131 comments Osbian wrote: "Does Arctic count as Western?"

Would say no, because its not part of Europe or American and that's usually what they mean when they say the western part of the world.

message 26: by Victoria (last edited Jul 02, 2017 08:32PM) (new)

Victoria | 13 comments Hey would anyone consider the Mistborn trilogy as a book not set in the western world?
It for sure takes some inspiration from Europe but it also get it from other places too.
