chin up and we'll drown a little slower;
i really need to read my chem textbook bc i fell asleep in lecture three times and i have no clue what’s going on
after she explained it it was easy asf but i just wasn’t awake when the prof explained it the first time yknow
i wish i could take cooler classes that i actually enjoy with a smaller workload so i don’t feel so overwhelmed and suicidal all the time, but that’s just showbiz baby

for staying awake in the morning, i like to open my window and then do somethig productive in bed (like read the news for instance) on my phone bc blue light wakes u up!! then i’ll stuff myself full of tea and breakfast lol
usually keeps me awake and i only drink cold brew when i feel like it, not out of neccessity or anything

i've deadass been at 0 motivation and haven't been paying attention in my lectures and have been getting bad grades on homework assignments because im too damn lazy to calculate dipole moments and wow my grades this semester are gonna be shit and im gonna lose my scholarship wow wow go me
Hey, chin up. I've been in your shoes and the only way to turn it around is to keep trying. Term just started. I find handwriting my notes helps so technology does not risk distracting. If your professors post lecture slides online for later viewing, try taking only additional commentary from the teacher or writing examples or summaries. If they post lecture slides before class, read them early so you have some ground knowledge and can know where to ask questions. Sometimes printing out the powerpoint helps too because you can write your notes right next to diagrams. As for falling asleep, I find keeping chocolate covered coffee beans nearby helps. Or you can pack gum to chew (it is proven to help improve attention by increasing blood flow to the brain) or bring juice or a bitter drink that might wake you up a bit.
thank you, its just hard af to keep trying😭 i carry a coffee travel mug around w me everywhere which helps a bit, but not enough
i'm in class and i decided that i wanted to hook up my credit card to apple pay to make my life easier but apparently my chronic sweaty hands make that impossible bc my fingerprints are so distorted that it doesn't read my fingerprints as mine and denies me access to my own phone wtf
my ONLY motivation for keeping my grades up at the moment is that my discover card gives me a cash reward for GPAs over 3.0

its weird af that iphone isn't reading my fingerprints bc when i was in Disney last year the tickets were fingerprint based and i don't recall having an issue with that?

like you would scan your magic band and put your finger in the thingy and it'd turn green and let you in...

I get that. <3 Another weird thing that I've found to help is fitness classes. I tried to take around one a term back at the community college I went to. Yoga, pilates, tennis, etc. Then when I transferred to university I stopped taking fitness classes. It felt like my mind was unfocused, spiralling away from me, and I was way more depressed. It's part of why I decided to take ballet this term. I'm only two weeks in and I already can tell it is helping. It's a nice break and work outside of class is usually minimal to none. Even if you can't add one this semester you should check in with the fitness center. I know here they have classes for students that are super cheap and in a range of stuff. May be worth a shot? Or you could try something you know you enjoy that also fits your credit needs (or find something in the community to do). Like after the shooting I took a ton of art classes and those really helped me. Idk what you like but even if it takes up a few hours of time a week from study it may be worth it if in the end you feel happier, less stressed, and more focused
yeah the fitness center is always open and the classes are free. there’s things like cycling and ice skating and such. i have exercise equipment in my house so i’m trying to make an effort to use those more. but I don’t know about things like art, i was never much good at that kind of thing, plus i don’t exactly know what i like in terms of that... i’m going to look into community classes though. i’ll let you know what i find.
ok so i went on a couple of community websites trying to find interesting things to sign up for. i found nothing 😂 but i’m going to try the campus activities site.
Nice :) hopefully those help. As far as the fitness goes, I'd try ones outside of the house instead of inside. It adds an extra layer of accountability plus you're more likely to make friends. It's more enjoyable. Well, in my opinion.
dude just asked me out and i said no and he’s like “it’s chill you’re like a brother to me” and i’m like... ok so why’d you ask me out
like if i completely break down at a 10, i’m a 9.999999999999999999 right now, that’s how close i am to losing my fucking mind
If you need someone to talk to you are always free to pm me. Or if you need more immediate answer I can add you on fb or something
