WillowRaven (WillowRaven1) | 63 comments I am currently reading a physical/print paperback book with 258 pages, however GoodReads shows it having 266 pages for this version/edition. I double checked the ISBN 13 number which is correct. When you get to "edit" ( to fix # of pages, for example ), it doesn't allow editing - only answer additional metadata type questions. This is not the first time I've come across discrepancies with a book that I'm reading or read. All other info checks out however something like page # is off. While it may seem like something minor, when keeping track of reading progress/status, the % can be off.

Is there a way to fix this so errors and discrepancies in the basic book info/description can be fixed?? So that GR users can actually EDIT this kind of info?

Thank you.

WillowRaven (WillowRaven1) | 63 comments Just for comparison:

Book: The Sweetness of Life
Author: Jamie Zunick
Avtual pages: 258 pages
Version: print, paperback
ISBN 13: 9781452591872
BALBOA Press rev date 3/12/2014

GoodReads shows this version to have *266* pages.

Thank you. Is there any possibility that the EDIT function might be able to include that option for GR users? The additional metadata answers seem sort of useless.

Goodreads has millions of members, I really cant imagine they would allow that many people the access to make changes. We could end up with quite the mess.
But if you are interested in being able to edit data yourself, you can apply to become a Librarian. See here https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/1...

Elizabeth (Alaska) And from the librarian manual:

https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/1...

"Initially, we allowed everyone to be a librarian. Anyone could edit book and author data, add cover images, or combine books. However, we found that while 99% of the people did a good job, occasionally we had someone who messed things up. So we created a new status that we bestow on those interested in helping keep things nice and tidy, which has worked out well."

Thanks for all the great advice and information! As this query has been correctly redirected to the Librarians Group, I'm closing this thread.
