It was an alright book. I enjoy books with a bit more of a plot though. I did like that there was the struggle of finding out about her father, and once she found out it caused almost a different conflict, but quickly resolved.

Yeah, this book was just okay for me too. There were things I liked, but overall I wasn't very interested in the story. I didn't like the voice here, Penny seemed very unconcerned and I had a hard a time believing that she cared that much about the father she never knew. What I did enjoy about this book were the little things- the bits of Italian culture, the quirky uncles and aunts, etc.

I agree. There is not a lot of action in the first part of the book. It reminds me a lot of Criss Cross. That may be why the part with the ringer came out of left field (allusion intended!). Wow. I was not expecting that.

I did enjoy the scenes with the Italian family. They were definitely entertaining.
