Shana--if you put more of a description in your thread title, you will get more people looking at your thread. Many of our group members don't read threads that are not in their interested reading genres, and really don't read the ones that just say help or some variation on that theme, since all of the posts in this thread are looking for help. You need to put at least the genre (mystery, thriller, romance, pnr whatever) in the thread heading, and a little bit of description (just no spoilers) after the genre is even better.

Ok, having finished the lecture, a few questions:

1) when did you read this--last month, last year, 5 years ago, 50 years ago?
2) What genre is it?
3) Why is she posing as her nephew's mother--is she the villain in the story, or does she have custody of him or something?
4) Where does she go "overseas"?
5) Any memory of what she does to earn a living?
6) Any memory of the cover?

Mass market fiction or literary fiction? Author female or male?

Shana | 4 comments The book I read is a harlequin romance. The main character is a business woman in the United States. Her cousin had a baby by a Greek playboy and he died in a car accident. The cousin gets sick(cancer) and the girl agrees to pretend to be the mother in order to get the baby his inheritance. It turned out the playboy was married and has a wife and baby. The wife's brother comes to protect his sister and the two characters fall in love.

Juels | 2427 comments This is similar but not exact. Heroine's sister died giving birth and the baby's father died in a car crash. Hero's cousin was the baby's father.

Here's another with a similar plot:

Janet (MR99) Neves | 58 comments There is one like this that I remember, but not the title or author. The heroine is actually the half-sister to the little boy; the h's mother and the greek had the child. The h does pretend to be the mother. The h overhears the cousins (?) talking (in greek) to a lawyer how to dupe the h and the half-brother out of his inheritance and the h understood it all. The h ends up turning the tables on them all and the half-brother gets his inheritance. The h and the lawyer are the ones with the romance.

Not exactly like the OP posted, but maybe it's the same book and jogs someone's memory?
