'Second Chance' Poll for August 2017 Group Read - Winner!

Just a reminder that as Ngaio Marsh will be represented in both this month's poll, and next month, please do not nominate any of her books for next months vote. Thanks.
This is such an excellent poll, with so many good choices. I know that I want to read all the books.
Yes, a great poll! The Case of the Gilded Fly, the first Edmund Crispin mystery, is in the lead at the moment, but there is a long way to go!
I've read 3 of the books fairly recently, so picked one of the two I hadn't read. I've gone for Crispin but am also keen to read the other one I haven't read yet, The Crime Coast: A Benvenuto Brown Mystery. I'd also be more than happy to discuss the others!

I own two that I haven't read, would like to give Marsh a second chance, and really like Crispin, so I have only eliminated one book. Still pondering my vote.
Have you voted yet? There are some great books in the poll, so please do have your say! :)

The Case of the Gilded Fly has pulled ahead again. I would happily read any of the choices, so am content to wait and see :)
When does the poll close, Judy? I suppose anyone who did not vote for either of those choices could change their vote to break the deadlock? I would be happy with either, so win-win.
It runs until the weekend, Susan - the poll ends at 8am next Monday in the UK. So yes, there is still time for some tactical voting...
We have a winner! The Case of the Gilded Fly by Edmund Crispin will be our group read in August 2017.

Sandy, you are SO right. I think Fen is the worst driver of any GA detective - even Peter Wimsey! Marcus, this is the first in the series, so a great place to start.
The only one I've read so far is The Moving Toyshop - looking forward to trying the first in the series!

Two Ngaio Marsh books were runners-up, but some members have asked if we could avoid splitting the vote between them. So Enter a Murderer is in the current poll and Clutch of Constables will go in next month's poll, to give both books a second chance and avoid splitting the vote.
