David (dpcossio) | 27 comments Dear all,

Something very common in works writen in minority languages.

Author in minority language S Catalan, Galician, Basque, Occitan) that translates his own work into a national/official language B (Spanish, French).

For GR database, can a writer be st the same time author and translator? Should Librarians mark this in any special way or the boxes author and translator should be enough?

Regards and thanks.

Philip (burnnerman) | 5913 comments Depends on who works on the book, since they are the same person. I have seen many books where they just list the author name with nothing in the Role field (basically means they did everything). Other times I have seen people put "Author/Translator" in the role field.

I would think that either is acceptable, but I like just leaving the role field empty in that circumstance.
