Angela Hansen (httpwwwgoodreadscomangelalhansen) | 4 comments I recently added my book (I think) but the cover image isn't appearing so I was hoping I could get some assistance. I need the version I created removed so I can place the book image on this site. The information for the book I need added is below. Not sure if the existing book I created can be merged and the book image added but these are the two I accidentally created: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3.... Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Angela

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 6162 comments Book was already on goodreads (found with isbn) under correct author name as on cover (Angela L. ...)
Merged your two unnecessary created ones and will set name on cover as primary now for all editions

Next time please do not just create editions, have a look if they already exist. It's way less work to just add a cover

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 6162 comments Is the teacher book yours in the Angela L. Profile?
If not I can move tomorrow (actually today...after some hours of sleep, had some trouble adding spaces on my tablet and would do that on pc in the morning) if it's not done by another librarian.

If you want to keep the L. In your future books it's perhaps easier to ask support for a merge into that profile.

Angela Hansen (httpwwwgoodreadscomangelalhansen) | 4 comments The teacher book is not mine. I suppose the L. Can be dropped if necessary. It is included on my actual books though.

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 6162 comments Set Angela L.^^Hansen as primary author for your books
The manual gives the frame for that
Some authors write or have written under multiple names. When editing or adding information for a book written by an author with multiple names, enter the author's name as on the front cover as the primary author. The author's other names may be added in the other author fields.

and if you decide to drop the L. for future editions of these books they have to get it added nonetheless.
"In some cases, a book may be originally published under a pen name, but then later reissued under the author's original name. When this happens, the author listed for any and all editions should be the author name the book was originally published under - so the reissued edition would need its primary author name changed to the originally published pen name, with the additional name added as secondary for all editions with it on the cover. Doing this will allow the various editions to be combined. "

You can claim the L. profile too (with another mail address) https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... or you can ask support to merge your actual profile be merged into it, or you can leave it as it is (as nonprimary author name you can't set the default edition of a book if that's neccessary).
