Nente | 9 comments I'm looking at Chukovskaya's book Sofia Petrovna, which was banned from publication in the USSR, and so was first published abroad in translation, under the title The Deserted House. However, it was published in original Russian since, many times. The question is, which of the titles is original here (and should go into the Original Title slot): the one on the first publication or the one the author used herself?

Conclusion: for your example, use the Russian title as original title (the Russian edition was used to translate the other editions from, even though it wasn't published officially in Russian yet at that time).

Nente | 9 comments Thank you Arenda! Sorry I didn't look it up properly.
