How it Fits: #8 in the Harry Bosch series
Review: I always love falling back in with Harry Bosch. This one though - I really loved it! I was really stumped on who the killer was until it was revealed at the end. And that ending .... well it leaves me very curious to see where Harry goes next! I'm definitely looking forward to getting to it sooner rather than later!

Review: I picked this one up hoping it would be a cute, fun and easy read. It definitely fit that bill. I liked Elise's character. At one time I had dreams of being a journalist...I hope I would have been like her. I appreciated how she was encouraged by her editor to give the investigation space to breathe. just a cute book that I enjoyed reading.

This book just did not work for me at all. When I realized this whole story was told in a series of flashback mixed in with the present, I almost DNF'd it right then. I like this author for super fluffy sweet reads so I continued. Ugh!! The flashbacks made me nuts, the constant ( and I do mean constant) use of sweetheart and angel made me gag and Noah was a giant ass most of the time. When the big reveal came for why they had been separated for 3 years, I was so disgusted. Such horrible behavior by Noah and his brother. Then Clark, who had done nothing wrong, spent way too long apologizing for leaving. The only reason I gave it two stars was because I really liked Clark. He was such a sweet man, but strong too. He handled Noah and all his issues so very well. Also the audiobook was well done with a great narrator.

Review: This book was a long time on my TBR list and for some reason I allways had the feeling it was a long and dreadful read.
What a surprise when I started reading and found it was a really wonderful and funny book. I enjoyed it very much and though SF is not allways my thing, this is one to remember. The other parts of the series have now all moved to my TBR list

How it fits: Stephanie Plum #1
Read: 6/14
Rating: 5 stars
Review: This was a great book! Back when I first read about it, I wasn't sure if I would particularly care about it, but it was hilarious! I'm not someone who outwardly reacts often to books, but actually I had to bite back some laughter with this one. This is exactly the kind of humor I like, and the story was really great. It's interesting to read one of these crime books that's not from a cop's POV, or a cozy mystery with a random person solving the crime, but from a mostly legal (but I don't think always) perspective of a bounty hunter. And it's really cool that it's about a female bounty hunter. I am very excited to read more of this series!

I loved the last book in the series because I felt like Ty and Zane were making huge steps in their relationship. I was looking forward to seeing where they'd go from there. Well, this book was a hard punch to the gut! A lot of secrets are revealed and I felt like Ty was flayed open. It hurt! It hurt Zane. It hurt Ty. It hurt his buddies and it hurt me for them all. It was brutal and I wasn't sure they would be able to work things out with all of the anger and trust issues that came out of it. And just when I was beginning to have hope for them again, here comes another gut punch of an ending! Noooo!
In addition to all the turmoil between Ty and Zane, there is the matter of the Mole. Someone on their team is setting them up big time and it goes back farther and deeper than anyone realized. It's big and it doesn't just involve Ty and Zane but the sidewinder boys too. There are only 2 books left in the series and things have definitely been turned up a notch!
Everything is all updated. We just need one more review to finish the week. There's still time though!

Review: Richelle Mead is one of my favorite authors. I loved Vampire Academy, Bloodlines, and the Succubus series. Compared to those, this was bland and predictable. I was expecting some kind of paranormal and/or fantasy element, but that didn't materialize. It is quasi- historical, yet set in fictional countries that resemble 18th century England and the American colonies. Lady Elizabeth Witmore leaves her life of privileged nobility to join a venture in which young women are trained to be perfect wives for men in the New World and then auctioned off to the highest bidder. I think the premise itself is off-putting, but some of the characters were interesting and at least it was a fast read.

Review: This was a Kindle First book for June. I don't often see authors I have previously enjoyed offered up as freebies, so I jumped on this one.
Gwen Proctor's ex-husband is a convicted serial killer. She was charged as his accomplice but acquitted. She now lives under a new identity with her two children, but her ex's actions still haunt all of them. The author does a great job conveying the MC's paranoia, and I often wondered if she was just plain crazy. While many of the character's actions are pretty dumb, this was a suspenseful book that kept me up reading way past midnight.

Review
I started to read the book for a task and as I wanted something easy and fast. I didn't expect too much of it.
It was indeed an eady read, but one I enjoyed very much. I could hardly stop to get some sleep, and real life was a bit in the way. It's a nice dystopian novel with enough mysteries to be exiting and a few nice characters. While of course the book is nothing like a classic, by the merits of its genre it was a good one and I gave it a 4 stars

Book: White Hot by Ilona Andrews
Pages: 389
Date Read: 6/17/17
How it fits: Hidden Legacy #2
Rating: 5 stars
It's no secret that I love everything written by Ilona Andrews. As far as I'm concerned, they have the Midas touch and this was no exception. Their books are full of action, humor, sexual tension and heart. I loved it, plain and simple.
I don't want to spoil anything so I'm going to make this short. In this installment, we get to see Nevada use her powers more. She's become stronger and is now a powerhouse in her own right. She's backed into a corner again and asked to do the impossible, which she does. The thing I love most about IA is that they take the ordinary and make it extraordinary! Like Kate, Nevada doesn't just use muscle or power but she actually thinks things through. She is able to beat a more powerful foe by simply outmaneuvering them. Also, she doesn't try to do it alone *ahem, Anita Blake*. Nevada uses all the resources that are available to her, including all the friends and family that she has taken in. There's also Mad Rogan...He's a beast! I love him!
I loved this one just as much as the first, if not more. We get a little more information about the new group that seems to be determined to destroy Houston. There is some progress in the romance department, yay! And there is a decision that Nevada and family must make. I'm so glad the next book is out soon!

Hard as It Gets by Laura Kaye
Read: 6/19/17
Rating and Review: 5 stars
I had forgotten just how much I love this series when I decided to re-listen to this one. This book had a great mystery, is sexy as hell, and made me laugh. Nick and Becca have serious chemistry right from the start. I also love that as individual characters I enjoyed reading about them. All the supporting characters are great, especially Jeremy ( I'm pretty sure he'll always be my favorite). Definitely looking forward to moving on with the series. =)

How it Fits: #2 in the Psychic Eye Mystery series
Review: I read the first book in this series earlier this year and enjoyed it enough to go ahead and pick up the 2nd and 3rd book in the series for my shelves. So I was glad for an "excuse" to read this book this week. And I enjoyed it a lot. I just like Abby's character. I don't read a lot of paranormal books, but I enjoy the psychic part of her character. It doesn't feel forced at all. I'd definitely recommend this book and series, and I'm looking forward to getting around to the 3rd book sooner rather than later!

Review: This was a really amazing book. :) It's kind of hard to believe that a story can be so interesting with a character trapped in a hotel for most of his life, but it is. The Count seems like a really great guy, but I have no idea how he didn't go crazy haha. I did love his relationships with Nina and Sophia. It was fascinating seeing how Russia changed overtime from inside the hotel. Amor Towles has a pretty unique style of story telling, and now I want to read his other book!
Great! We're all ready for tomorrow! Good job, everyone :)Week 3: Spot 21

Review: I have loved Greek mythology since childhood, so I was interested to read this adaptation of the tale of Agamemnon's family. As Agamemnon prepares to take his army to fight in the Trojan war, the weather makes travel impossible. He's told that the only way to appease the gods is to sacrifice his young daughter, Iphigenia. He tricks his wife, Clytemnestra, into bringing Iphigenia to him, under the pretense that the girl is marry Achilles. The girl is killed and the army goes off to war for 10 years, leaving Clytemnestra plenty of time to plot revenge. The book is beautifully written and tells the story from multiple points of view. It made me want to back and research more about the ancient stories of these characters.

I loved this audiobook just as much the second time as I did the first. It's such a sweet story. I can totally relate to Mark since I have the same anxiety issues. Seth was wonderful and patient with Matk and allowed Mark to move at his own pace. I loved the two women in the story as well. They were very supportive of Mark and just fun characters.

Number 3 in the #miss marple seriesAuthor: Agatha Christiepages: 224 p

Review:
Once in a while, I like to read an Agatha Christie. Nice reads if you don't have a lot of time or if your head is distracted by other things. Among Agatha Christie's detectives, miss Marple is by far my most Favourite. I enjoyed this Miss Marple mystery a lot. The nice thing about it is that you don't see from the beginning who did the murder, so it stays suspenseful.
Another particular thing about the detectives is that they are very interesting from historic point of view. One can hardly imagine the way class and society in England worked, not even that long ago. All in all a very nice read.

How it fits: Women's Murder Club #8
Read 6/7/17
Rating: 5 stars
Review: I think this might be my favorite book in this series so far. It had more unique murders/cases than the previous books. It's kind of making me think about "street justice" vs by the books justice in certain cases. I don't ever condone violence irl, but I kind of almost agree with it in this - fictional! - case. And I'm happy that Lindsey finally made a decision romantically. I'm also really happy that Joe was willing to give her so much time to make such a big decision and wasn't super whiny or crappy about it.
