❀Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
Colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
Locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
Cover Items: Must have the given item on the cover
Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Carolin | 5 comments Hi :)
I'm Carolin and it's my first time too. Can't wait to get started!

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1372 comments Hey, Gals, I have played a lot of different team challenges in a bunch or different groups, but this is my first Super Series Challenge also.

message 11: by Shan ~A~ (last edited May 27, 2017 05:03PM) (new)

Shan ~A~ (thebookglutton) | 440 comments Hi teammates. Wow!! I love the way the challenge looks (really fun) this time around.

Who is going to be our captain?

message 12: by Emeli (new)

Emeli Webb | 33 comments hi i'm emeli and this will.we be my first time playing

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1372 comments So all we are missing is Mary.

If none of you wants to be Captain, I can step up. I have been a co-captain in a lot of other groups, so I am sure I can figure it all out.

message 14: by Shan ~A~ (new)

Shan ~A~ (thebookglutton) | 440 comments Alison that would be great in my opinion.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1372 comments Shan ~ A ~ wrote: "Alison that would be great in my opinion."

If you have played this before then you might need to keep an eye out to make sure I get stuff correct.
:-)
This is different from our last game together.

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 900 comments Hello! Sorry, I went on an overnight trip. I'm good with Allison being captain.

I've played in almost every round and I think I was a captain last time. So if you need a back-up one Friday I can do that.

message 17: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 900 comments I feel unprepared for this round. Normally I have a whole bunch of next in series books of various numbers since I get most of mine from the library. But I haven't had time this round.

Ok, I will step up, but yes I might be asking you and Shan for help, and or if you see something I miss or mess up please for the team's sake speak up.
:-)

Hope you had fun on your overnight.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1372 comments So......
Do we want to name our team or just be "Team 6"?

message 20: by Carolin (new)

Carolin | 5 comments I would like a name :) I am not very creative though :D
Maybe something with 6?
Like The Sixth Sense
666 - The Number of the Beast (thats pretty dark though probably the Iron Maiden fan talking here)
Summer of 69 (it's round 9 of SS and it's (almost) summer :) )
Maybe something book related?
The only obvious that comes to my mind is
Six of Crows
or something more subtle like
The Magician's Nieces (The Magician's Nephew is part six of Narnia) - we are girls only right?
Those are just a few things that come to my mind I am very happy if you have better ideas :)

message 21: by Moondance (new)

Moondance (moondance120) | 985 comments I tried a name generator and didn't get anything I liked. I like Summer of 69 combining our team and the round. Six of Crows is good too.

message 22: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 900 comments Summer of 69 is good.

6 is the first "perfect number" (all it's divisors add up to itself).
6 is the symbol for Venus.
6 in Tarot cards is the Lover.

Henry VIII had 6 wives.

Just some fun facts about the #6 if anyone can make a name out of those.

message 23: by Alison (Lady Coffin) (last edited May 28, 2017 03:54PM) (new)

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1372 comments I like "Summer of 69"
But hey, it is a special year for me. Just please don't do the math on how old that makes me. ;-)
...and cool facts on the "6" Mary, do you also know about 9?

Unless Emelie or Shan dislike it, or someone comes up with something we all love even better, I say we go with that.

message 24: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 900 comments I was conceived in 1969 so it was a good year for me too.

Alison (Lady Coffin) S | 1372 comments Ok Gang
It looks like we need to make "selection posts" in addition to the "Completion Posts" example linked in message 40 above

If you could do something similar to what Moondance did above that would be great.
Info Needed:
~ task: are you reading for the alternate task or series task, if series what number.
~ book: cover or title link is fine, but please do link it to the version you are reading. Also, the author would be appreciated. (If you want to include the series name and # that would be fine.)
~ page count: this way it is verified that you are meeting the min, or if you might get us a bonus point for a book over 500 pages*

Thank you!
I will do mine as soon as I actually make up my mind on a book.
:-\

* One point can be earned One point can be earned for reading a book that > 500 pages
* Other bonus points are listed under NEW FEATURE: Bonus Points ~ (A little past half way in this message.)
