Colleen (colls) | 491 comments Hello!!!! I'm looking forward to this challenge, I have so many series piling up it'll be good to knock some down.

Are we doing a team name? We could just be Team 4 or here are some ideas.
The Quad
Fantastic Four
Four Pack
Something with 'square' in it?

message 11: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1175 comments Good ideas Colleen. Of course when I see square I think "Square Shooters" which I take in a totally dirty way but it isn't necessarily a dirty phrase....right? lol

message 12: by Gabriela (new)

Gabriela | 192 comments Haha not necessarily Shannon, but of course I thought that too!

I like Four Pack, or maybe something like Four-leaved clovers, for good luck in our rolls :)

By the way, would anyone like to be captain?

message 13: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1175 comments Oooh, I like the Four-Leaved Clovers. We need luck in this game!

Colleen (colls) | 491 comments Oh, I like Four-Leaved Clovers, too. Luck and maybe a pot of gold when we're done? :)

I can help someone out, but can't always say I'll be around to make a timely roll of the dice. So I'll volunteer to be second string maybe?

message 17: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1775 comments I was a captain last time for this challenge. If no one else wants to do it, I will.

message 18: by Brenna (new)

Brenna (cinderheart218) | 82 comments I like Four Leaved Clovers as well, and I probably shouldnt offer to be captain because my schedule can get a bit busy sometimes

message 19: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1175 comments That would be great Karen!! Thanks for volunteering.

So Karen is our captain and "Four Leaved Clovers" is our name?

We're ready!! Yay!!

Waiting for Love by Marie Force
Qualification: McCarthys of Gansett Island #8
Finished: 6/8/17
Rating: 4 stars
Review: I love this series. Even though each book is about a different couple, we still get updates on all the other couples from previous books which I really enjoy. This book is about Adam, another McCarthy son, who ends up coming back home from New York. He meets up with Abby, who was his brother Grant's girlfriend at one time. I really enjoyed these two getting together.

Review:
In this book, Dex and Perry, along with their new producer Rebecca, go to a former sanatorium, now school, for children with TB. It was a fairly creepy episode, although I do feel like the sanatorium wasn’t as explored or described as other sites in the series.
As with the previous installments, this book was funny, fast-paced and just a tad overdramatic, which I was in the mood for. But what I loved most was Dex, as usual. He is still very much himself, except that now he is showing Perry how much he cares and protects her and how good a partner he is.

Book: Scents and Sensibility by Spencer Quinn
(Chet and Bernie Mystery #8)
Finished: 06/03/2017
Rating: 3 stars
Review: The final (so far?) installment in the Chet and Bernie mystery series where a private investigator (Bernie) and his canine partner (Chet) solve the mystery of who stole the cactus.

There is a LOT of Chet POV, which is entertaining. I feel Chet really goes off on wild tangents in this one and some of his threads were forced. However, I still adore Chet and the addition of Shooter to the mix was an amusing side-tale.

Holy crap!! I think I just used half a box of tissues reading this freaking thing. Oh the feels!! If someone could have had a worse life than Levi, please tell me. I don't even see how that's possible. The guy has pretty much been tortured since the day he was born into that awful family. The things he's live through. And we know Phoenix from previous books but it isn't like he's had the peachiest of time either. The two of them...just wow! The love I have for this book is so huge!!

Review:
I blame Shannon for finally getting me to read this book. It was honestly a breeze to read this book. I have only read book 4 (twice) and not the others. The sex scene were good but it was a little bit too much dick cure all going on. Rafe's anger was understandable but misdirected at his brothers. I'm mildly disappointed in this book but overall I enjoyed myself.

Book: Looking for Alaska
Looking for Alaska by John Green
How it fits: Black Cover (Alternate)
Number of Pages: 221

Rating: 5 Stars
Review:
Miles (nicknamed "Pudge" by his friends) is an insignificant high-schooler in his home town until he leaves to go to a boarding school to seek his "Great Perhaps". He makes several friends, including Alaska Young who dies halfway through the book in a car crash. Pudge and his friends spend the rest of the book trying to cope with the loss and figure out the reasons for her death.

I overall really enjoyed this book, watching the characters grow and change as a result of the events that occur. I really liked the structure and how the book pivoted around the single event and Alaska impacted the characters both before and after her death. I also enjoyed reading about the fun times the characters had, and trying to piece together the mystery of Alaska. While I wish that some things had more closure, I guess that fits best with Alaska's personality and how the book is written.

I usually have such a tough decision to make when a #1 is involved, glad it was easy this time. :)
