Nice! I see tons of good titles on there - looks like we have a lot of similarities. I couldn't agree more with Xanth haha. The one I'd push on you to start is Waking Fire by Ryan. :)

Rob (nefariasbredd) | 1803 comments I think the authors I have yet to try are that are on my list:

McClellan, Lawrence, Staveley, Jemison, Novak - Temeraire, but should complete others first!

The McClellan, Lawrence and Staveley series were all very good. I'd add Manifest Delusions by Fletcher.

Beyond Redemption
The Mirror’s Truth
Swarm and Steel

Haha good luck! For me this challenge has been a mix of "hey! Look how many new series I'm starting this year!!" "Is that a new buddy read I can join?" and "I'm never going to get through all of these." So I appreciate your conviction. ;)

Did you have a goal coming in? I wanted to be under ten open series by the time the one year mark rolled around. Although I'm still really far away from that the total books to get there are way down and I'm starting to schedule myself to pull it off right as the bell sounds.

Coming into it I didn't have more than a vague goal of "try to finish more series," but lately you all have inspired me to get more specific with it.

My first plan was focus only on high priority titles and try to get that list down to 0 by the end of the year (about 15 series), but I realized today that as the list shrinks, other things move up in the priority chain, so I'm back to where I started. I'll have to come up with something else... I'm going to think about it for a few hours and then post my new goals.

A good goal for me right now would be to finish more than I start, lol. It's so easy to pick up a new first book in a series and immediately move it to UTD. It feels like cheating.

Actually that's how I curve my cravings to start new series. One and done with no large impact.

Hehe me too... I was just thinking about listening to Elantris with this very excuse in mind.

Anyways... welcome to SHAME. Prepare yourself for being chastised walking nude through Kings Landing.

Touche, that's pretty funny.

Rob (nefariasbredd) | 1803 comments Malazan Empire series complete! Jumping right into Kharkanas series, though I suspect I'll pause it to move to Dancer's Lament when the buddy read for that kicks off unless I read like a speed demon.

message 28: by Rob (new)

Rob (nefariasbredd) | 1803 comments Ok, I get to Cross "Old Man's War Series" off my list.

Leaves about 17 priority series for me to complete.

Rob (nefariasbredd) | 1803 comments Updated this for the first time in a long time. I should add Demon Cycle and Of Blood and Bone to completed series by the end of July.
