I expected Dorothea to marry Will and her to be disinherited. But I also expected a plot twist here: where would the land and money go? Maybe Casaubon did not state that in his will and his nearest relation being... his cousin Will Ladislaw?

I am way back in Book 1, but wasn't Lasislaw somehow disinherited, so that Casaubon got HIS money?- which is why he paid for his education.

It was Wills grandmother who was disinherited. The family tree is somewhat unclear to me, but I think it is a safe usumption that Mr Casaubon has no sisters, brothers or children. My expectation was that there where on other living branches, so it would come back to Will any way, simply because Will was Mr Casaubon cousin.
