Twelve Months Make a Year by Elizabeth Coatsworth. The illustrator is Marguerite Davis.I found a sold listing for the book on Etsy.

Also, I want to say that by bizarre coincidence, I know some of the grandchildren of the author! I showed them this picture via Facebook and they confirmed what Tab found out and were delighted to see the picture.

My library has this. It is a book of children's stories, one for each month of the year.

I found out it was illustrated by Marguerite Davis and worked from there
This is a bit backwards -- I have this illustration and am trying to identify the book it came from. I am guessing maybe 1930's due to the illustration style but am hardly an expert. I have no information beyond the picture itself. If anyone recognizes it, I would be very grateful!
