Paula (paulaan) | 7027 comments GR policy is to list books under the name they are first published.

Therefore the books will be listed under Elyra Mirabell, Mina can be added as a secondary author.

GR does not delete / change covers on published books alternate cover editions are added

I understand GR Policies and procedures perfectly, GR does not change / remove covers and once a book is published even for a week it is listed with the name it was published under.

Alternate cover editions added

Follow the instructions in msg4 of the link below to set the default edition

You can have the current version or any of the older versions you wish.

Plus if you set the default edition to the one on retail product pages that's the one most readers here will see and use (unless deliberately seeking/using a different edition). That's why Paula gave the link to how to set the default edition.

You chose to re-use the same ASIN/ISBN when uploading a new cover edition.

If it helps, please don't think of goodreads as a retail site with product pages. It just has book data pages. It's a library of book data both currently in print or not in use by millions of readers who may have used the older covers in all kinds of cataloging, challenges, listopias and other activities.

Just because you are now selling a different one, goodreads does not yank away the older editions (even if no longer available) from readers using them. Any more than it would be right to go into someone's home to remove no longer available print books from physical bookshelves.

As Paula mentioned, as the author you can set which cover is the default aka primary aka featured edition so that the newest cover on Amazon product page is the one that shows up in search, on your author dashboard, series page, and elsewhere.

If you do not set a default/primary/featured edition, then goodreads uses whichever edition is most popular/active.

Setting a default effectively buries older, no longer for sale editions (unless a reader already was using an older edition or deliberately chooses). Some readers never look past the default edition; others are incredibly obsessive about using the edition they own or the edition that fits one of their book activities here.

Goodreads just does not have any product pages; merely tracks published book data.

ETA: goodreads librarians cannot set a default edition, the author needs to.

Abcdarian | 19392 comments I added the kindle ACE that she wanted; a bit late I guess. :-( https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... There's still the paperback one to do.
