Reread of The War of the Worlds, a good one to reread, short but full of various philosophical thoughts. Rating really didn't change however. What struck me this time thorough was how the author made the curate (religion) such a weakling. Not much respect for religion there. Yet there was comment on praying to God by the unnamed narrator.

4 stars

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I had quite low expectations, based on other books from that era, but The War of the Worlds was well worth reading. The books is an eyewitness account, told by a survivor after the invasion is already over, and quite a thrilling story about surviving against the odds. I just wish he had told the wife's story as well.
