This challenge is to see if you can find all the words listed below within your reading for the month. You do not need to preselect a level.

The maximum number of words for each book is THREE. There is no page limit.

0-3 words : better luck next time
3-5 words : warming up
6-8 words : getting hotter
9-10 words : CHAMPION hunter!

June
argue
boot
competition
dust
found
lean
naïve
pump
science
stage

Bonus
For our over-achievers who just need some extra words because the above weren't enough...

Unlike with the 10 words above - you must find the EXACT word to claim these bonus words, and I try to make them hard.

hood
juicy
robust
spiders
suspenders

To prove that you have found the word, please quote the page, percentage or LOC (Kindle) and include the sentence in which it appears.

Audiobooks are allowed so long as you can quote the page/%/LOC and the sentence. (Eg Using whispersync or finding that sentence in some other way.)

You must find the actual word or the word's root word must be at the core with the meaning essentially remaining the same ~ just turned into a noun, adjective, adverb etc. No prefixes or hyphenated extensions. An extension is allowed where it is often the accepted spelling eg goodbye or good-bye.

Where a word has more than one meaning, either meaning may be used. Eg coast (beachfront) or coast (moving without effort) etc

Please post all entries, updates, final posts and questions in this thread.

Jane (PS) | 20441 comments Tips for finding words - courtesy of Jennifer ♔Princess Penguin♔

Using Google books:
~Go here https://books.google.com/bkshp?hl=en&...
~Type in the name of your book
~Select your book
~On the left about midway down there will be a search bar, type your word in there.

Couple of things you need to know...
~you need to check every variety of the word you want so, let's say GROUP doesn't show up you would also need to type in GROUPS/ED/ING
~Unfortunately, 99% of the books on Google does not list page numbers (at least in my experience)

Using Amazon:
~You search for your book
~Once on your book page make sure you are on a version that is paperback or hardcover (Kindle editions will not work)
~On the left there will be a picture of your book and it should have "Search Inside" above it
~Click on the book and the search bar will be inside

You will not need to search separately for plurals but you will still need to search separately for -ed and -ing

***
You can also search for words in all the books loaded on your Kindle.

On the home page, use the 'search' function.
~ type in the word and select 'search my items'.

Bonus Read: 3/5

argue: I'm not here to argue. Double Play (p.218) - Jill Shalvis 6-8-17
boot: To his surprise, the child executed a nearly perfect military salute and then turned on his heel and marched to his seat as though he'd been living at boot camp for the past several months. Unfinished Business (p.56) - Karyn Langhorne Folan 6-2-17
competition: "Maybe we should go ahead and do the competition route." Falling Free (LOC 539) - Evelyn Adams 6-9-17
dust: When the dust had cleared; Richard was gone. Second Chance Summer (p.45) - Jill Shalvis 6-4-17
found: Only trouble was to be found and I had more than enough of that, so I went to the place where I was currently laying my head. The Enforcer (LOC 163) - Kaye Blue 6-4-17
lean: He was still standing up, leaning hard on the cane and staring after her. Unfinished Business (p.15) - Karyn Langhorne Folan 6-2-17
naïve: And I suppose naive is better than being an idiot. Kian: Prince of Sorenia (LOC 2254) - Imani King 6-6-17
pump: With each pump of my hips, she cried out, that, the sound of my harsh, heavy pants, and the sound of our pelvic bones hitting each others the only noise in the room. The Enforcer (LOC 1127) - Kaye Blue 6-4-17
science: And, if she wanted to be honest about it, once he'd stripped off that suit jacket that looked like it had cost a couple of million dollars at some custom men's store, loosened his tie and rolled up his sleeves and started bending over desks, helping her students with the nuances of civics and language arts, math and science, he'd been maddeningly sexy. Unfinished Business (p.71) - Karyn Langhorne Folan 6-2-17
stage: Stage four liver cancer, I think. Ethan: The Shoshone Clan (LOC 546) - April A. Luna 6-9-17

Bonus:
hood: She looked down at herself; oversized sweatshirt, hood up, PJ shorts in plaid with KISS IT on her butt, wool knee socks, and her Uggs. Second Chance Summer (p.61) - Jill Shalvis 6-4-17
juicy:
robust: She was a foot shorter than my own six four, her smooth, soft-looking skin a deep, rich brown that beckoned me to touch; so do her body, the rounded slope of her soft but strong shoulders enclosed in a simple white button-shirt - one that was still immaculately clean despite it being the end of the day - leading down to full breasts, a thick narrow waist, all atop robust hips and thighs that strained against the confines of her navy-blue pants. The Enforcer (LOC 133) - Kaye Blue 6-4-17
spiders: Spiders lurched in the wood stacks as well as snakes, and the last thing she needed was a bite. Second Chance Summer (p.66) - Jill Shalvis 6-4-17
