I finished "In The Woods" by Tana French, "Crimson Orgy" by Austin Williams, "Dragon Lovers" by Jo Beverley, Mary Jo Putney, Barbara Samuel, and "The Vampire Viscount and the Devils Bargain" by Karen Harbaugh, and "the Last Waltz" by Mary Balogh. whew! all very good books!
Just finished the great Five on a Treasure Island - Enid Blyton. Will now carry on reading The Armada Boy - Kate Ellis.
Just finished the delightful The Armada Boy - Kate Ellis. Think I will now read Case Histories - Kate Atkinson for my next book as I have wanted to know what her books are like.
I just finished "Frostbitten" by Kelley Armstrong, this is one of the best book/series ever! The characters are strong and believable, the writing is seamless and perfect. *sigh* I just hate that I have to wait so long till another comes out! I tried to read "Mr Darcy, Vampyre" by Amanda Grange is was horrible, couldn't read past the first chapter. yuck! have "black and white" by jackie kessler and "un lun dun" by china mieville to read now.
Still reading Case Histories - Kate Atkinson. Also decided to listen to American Wife - Curtis Sittenfeld (21hrs 30 mins) as this is a library copy and needs to be sent back before I go away on Friday lunchtime. Next will listen to Betty:The Autobiography - Betty Driver.
Just finished the audio of American Wife - Curtis Sittenfeld. Going to carry on and finish Case Histories - Kate Atkinson. Also today I am listening to Scarpetta - Patricia Cornwell and read my Book Circle book too.
Last night I finished Case Histories - Kate Atkinson which had a bit weird ending. Now I am going to listen to Betty : The Autobiography - Betty Driver & Goodnight, Beautiful - Dorothy Koomson & going to read my Book Circle book.
I just started the 3rd installment to the Wicked Series - Lion Among Men. Gregory Maguire has only let me down once out of all of his book that I have read .... I think I read them all besides this one.
Had a kind of melt down last nite. The last 3 books I read/listened to was not what I was expecting. Disliked Scarpetta - Patricia Cornwell, wasn't keen on Betty: The Autobiography - Betty Driver due to what she did before, I think it wasn't my cup of tea (as they say) and finally Case Histories - Kate Atkinson started off good, got to middle was ok, then finally at the end, you just lost the plot of where all these characters and who they were or ended up being. I ended up keep going back and forwards to see who was who.
Now I am reading Run For Your Life - James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge.

Aww Fiona! I'm sorry. It always horrible to read one bad book but to hate or dislike three in a row has got to be horrible. Good luck on this one!!
Fiona ... You should just read a nursery rhyme in between bad books just so you don't have that many horrible reads consecutively. Good Luck with Run for your Life, a woman at work is reading that now and really enjoys it.
Finished Run For Your Life - James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge. Now I am listening to Digital Fortress - Dan Brown.
I am listening to Jane Eyre and I am now reading The Lovely Bones
I have to stop House of Leaves for a bit because I just could get engaged. It's not a bad book I am just not that into it yet. I will get back to it at some point!

Darkly Dreaming Dexter - Jeff Lindsay
Furies - Elizabeth Kay
Partners in Crime - Nigel Hinton
Liar - Pete Johnson
Until Proven Guilty - Nigel Hinton

I'm still working on Shantaram. I'm really enjoying the book, but between a sick child and being super busy at work, the reading of it isn't going so fast. What did you think of The Lovely Bones? I read it a few years ago. I think I liked it overall... Sebold had a neat vision of Heaven in the book. Have you read any of her other books?

Wow Fiona! Do you ever sleep? :)
I am having difficulty with BOTH of these books! I find myself finding other things to do, than read. That is definitely not like 'me'.'Poisonwood Bible' and 'House of Leaves'
Anybody else???
I can't believe I waited so long to read Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It is amazing already. I can tell it's going to be a 5 star read and one of my all time faves and I am only 70 pages in!
Just listening to Swimsuit - James Patterson. Listened to Alex Cross's Trial - James Patterson last night.
I read the poison wood bible a while ago, not quite dismal... some of her other books are better, if not as disjointed http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/14...
I just went on an ebook spree; bound hearts by lora leigh, books 1-6, behind the mask by joey hill, shared by wolves - renee marks, quickies (3) by lora leigh and joey hill, demonic attraction by kim knox. Then, the book of paranormal romance (which was FABULOUS!!) pretty dead by francesca lia block (bleh), deep kiss of winter by kresley cole and gena showalter, again, a wonderful book. non-fiction - seven faith tribes by some guy (okay)
I loved loved loved Shadow of the Wind!I just finished Emma by Jane Austen and I'm now finally starting the group read House of Leaves :)
That's so disappointing :/ Was it the style of the book that made it hard to get into or the story itself??I guess I'll find out when I get home from work today... lol
It's the combination of the two. I am sure I will get back to this book but at a later time. I just couldn't get through it. You will soon understand I am sure!
I've never understood they hype about Poisonwood Bible. So many people seem to love it, but I just couldn't get into it. On the other hand, I've got a practically unused and pretty much perfect copy of it just collecting dust if someone else wants to give it a try! :)
Just finished the marvellous Swimsuit - James Patterson. Will now listen to The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown.
