The whole time I was reading the book I was imagining it as a movie, which I usually don't do. I think that Neil Gaiman's books are some of the only ones I've seen recently that Hollywood didn't completely destroy in the movie version. No idea about casting though . . .
I take it from the comments this is going to be live action then? That's interesting since Coraline was animated and Gaiman is known for his graphic novels. I think I'd kind of rather see this animated.

Libby wrote: "He was my first thought too but I don't know if its too close to Snape."That's interesting because my other bookclub read this book in June and HP was the book they made the most parallels. Although, they compared Silas more with Sirius Black.
I believe the movie will be animated. So voice casting? And if it did become live action, who would be your choices?
I did a simple live action casting. I'm not completely certain of my choices but I chose those in British series/movies.
Nobody Owens (JJ Feild as teen)
Silas (Alan Rickman)
Liza Hempstock (Rosamund Pike)
Parents (Bill Paterson & Penelope Wilton)
Jack Frost (Richard Armitage)
Scarlett (Lucy Boynton as teen)
Miss Lupescu (Maggie Smith)

The Graveyard Book will become a movie in 2011. What are your casting picks for the main characters?
